This is the guy who up until he suddenly turned nice to her made her feel like she couldn't do anything right- subconsciously, probably, because he somewhat blamed her for the death of the mom. But still, point is they aren't close! And at that age, you can't imagine telling anything like this to your parent- Mencia is ashamed, she thinks her dad will be even angrier with her than before. So no, obviously keeping quiet about Armando is not the right decision, but I get why she's behaving like this.
