I never saw Whitey as creepy I think he’s a very caring man who has an invested interest in the kids past & present. His conversation with Karen was more mentor/father figure type he was encouraging her not only has she raised a fine son to be proud of but she’s done well in her life fully supporting her son on her own running a successful business also on her own. Remember he’s known Karen since she was the current teens age she was a cheerleader while Dan was on his team they have a lot of history.
