Tanabata is a traditional Japanese seasonal event that announces the arrival of summer.
It is based on Chinese mythology, which is a lover's story of "Orihime" and "Hikoboshi".
Vega symbolizes Orihime and Altair symbolizes Hikoboshi, and the two live in Heaven separated by the Milky Way. And they can only meet once a year, and only when the Tanabata is sunny.
People pray that they can meet again by putting up a bamboo leaf. And people hang a strip on their head, which wrote their wishes. It is believed that the wishes written on the paper will also be fulfilled if the lovers can meet safely.
