I'm late to the party but still interesting to watch/read these reactions :) Jake and Peyton... They love each other but something has always felt off. The stepmom stuff for a 16yo girl is not working for me and also the fact that Peyton may mainly love the idea of a family with Jake and Jenny because it mirrors her personal situation (missing mom). That's why Jenny is the reason they have bonded. And to me, if we remove Jenny, there is nothing that connects them together because it has never been developed. So we always get the same storyline with Nicki in which Peyton (a main character) plays a third role because it is mainly Jake's storyline... About her feelings for Lucas... I have always kept somewhere in my mind that Peyton "broke up" with Lucas despite being in love with him because she chose Brooke. The writers never closed that chapter and kept putting hints here and there. So I have mixed feelings about this situation because I understand why we are getting here again (good intentions, bad outcomes).

If he really had a better connection with Peyton he shouldn’t have gotten with Brooke the second time. He wasted her time and his time. Peyton and Jake to me had better chemistry as characters and actors. She was a stronger person with Jake. Her relationship with Lucas is so co-dependent. But she feels how she feels. People can’t control their attraction but they can control their actions. Peyton already did this so to do it again is even more selfish. Her timing is selfish and she’s selfish to voice it and expect Brooke to still be her friend. What did she expect Brooke to say? If I was Brooke I’d never be her friend again. How many chances does she get?

2024-02-18 19:50:12 +0000 UTCIt seems like all the reactors watching OTH end up not liking Peyton because of this. I feel like her and Lucas had a deep emotional connection from the beginning. I like Brooke, but always felt like her and Lucas were more of a physical/superficial connection. Although, I do not agree with how the situation with Lucas and Peyton went down TWICE I do understand.

2024-02-18 05:23:04 +0000 UTCI felt bad that you were getting excited for Jake and Peyton knowing what was coming. Unfortunately, there were hints (Peyton's subconscious, "Should I be with Lucas instead of Brooke?"🙄) to Peyton's feelings for Lucas before the school shooting and before this episode. I agree with everything Brooke and you said regarding the reveal. Telling Brooke, when her insecurities centered around Peyton, made zero sense. What is Brooke suppose to do with that information. I was actually surprised they let Brooke voice that. Peyton came across pretty terrible here. People will say that she learned her lesson from last time and was just trying to be honest with Brooke. Please. (She is definitely not a fan favorite, but she does have a few defenders. They were sympathetic to her drama.)
