just to clear some things up that u were confused about, he couldn't show miguel freebo's body that night he caught him in the act bc he told miguel it was self defense and that he had happened upon freebo while following up a "forensics lead". if he let miguel look, he wouldve seen freebo wrapped in plastic with photos taped up of his victims, etc. so he would realize nah dexter had preplanned this killing in a crazy ass way lmao. and also, he didnt actually bury the body. dexter dismembers the bodies and drops the trash bags w the parts into the ocean from his boat. another thing he couldnt tell miguel the truth about bc thats insane and also the same thing the bay harbor butcher (who the public thought was doakes) did. so he made up that he put him in the cemetery but the body isnt actually there. he needs miguel to believe it was a freak accident not that hes a ritualistic serial killer lmao. and i think as for miguel cozying up to dexter, i think he just wants someone to talk about this with, bc he cant tell anyone else what dexter did and that his brother's killer is actually dead. also probably what u said too, transference of this brotherly role onto dexter.
