The Doctor and Anita scenes were the best part of the episode. There was a genuine connection and bond between the two which made me wish The Doctor took her in the Tardis. The rest of the episode however? Eh. It was pretty meh. It was interesting to see a bit of manipulation with The Doctor triggering Joy's emotions to save her but unfortunately I think Anita ended up overshadowing Joy which is a shame because I like the actress but I was more engaged with Anita as a character. Even The Doctor and Trevor had more of a connection together than he did with Joy and Trevor only lasted about roughly 10 minutes. He definitely had good chemistry with The Doctor too.
I didn't really feel anything with Joy's sacrifice either which was a shame. Aside from the obvious dig against the government's handling of Covid, nothing else really stood out to me. But I kinda knew I'd have issues with this story considering its a Moffat one and I tend to be very iffy with his stories lol. This one was just meh. I don't mind him writing the occasional story but this has just made me hope that he doesn't become showrunner again.
