I just feel like he would not have set boundaries if he was a player, he could've let Amaya be all over him. It felt like a "Yeah they made me pick you but we not about to be locked in." Keep in mind he never gives a answer about why he chose her.

He literally did a complete 180, not even an hour after he chose her he was setting boundaries. I would not be surprised if Ace picking Amaya was a production plant. Last season the Islanders expressed how heavily involved they were in creating drama. He didn't seem all that happy to even pick her that night as well.
