October Update

Hey gearheads!

Beta Testers

It's been a rough couple of days, but we've still been able to make quite a bit of progress, thanks to the beta testers.  It seemed like it'd work better if we pooled things together so beta testing is through a dedicated channel on the discord server.  This gives our programmer direct access to the testers, which results in an extraordinary increase in bug fixing speed.

If your interested in being a beta tester, since things are still starting out its super open.  Join the discord, leave a message about being a beta and I'll add you to the channel.  Since there will be early releases in there and we want active testers, I'll be cleaning house weekly to bi-weekly to keep things fair for everyone.  The goal is to have 2 or 3 active people for each release type: oculus, vive and nonVR.

RWBY Combo Release (Premium POV)

With the help of the beta testers we've gotten a working reticle (dot in the middle of the screen) for the release and should be releasing an undated version in the next couple of days.  There are a few things I'd still like to tweak on the animation, given enough time, but this will give us the solid foundation we wanted to re-establish for the POV series.

RWBY Trainer

With things steadying on the combo release we'll be able to pick back up on the Ruby combo release.  The main animator for it ended up not working out, so while looking for a new animator and multiples for backup, I'll continue to work on the baseline animations to keep things moving forward.

Change in release schedule

One of the craziest things with the release schedule has been aiming for bigger and better while still releasing something every week, regardless of the situation or progress on the bigger projects and for better or worse we've managed to deliver on that for over a year.  It's been intense and I'm grateful to all of you for your faith in the journey.   From the messages a comments a couple of you are ahead of me on the announcement, but we'll be shifting to a bi-monthly release schedule.

The plan for the new schedule is one major project release, which for the time being is the RWBY Trainer and one minor project release, which could be in the realm of the POV series, VRA theater, updated version of an older release, etc. but will be largely based on previous and future request.

We'll continue pushing forward at the same speed (which I still think is super fast), but with the extra clear weekend in there, that gives us more time to test releases and refine quality with a little less pressure.  So in the long run I think this will be a good move from everyone.

Either way, feel free to let us know what you think below!
