I came across this and wanted to share. It's a spreadsheet of a decent number of MMD models and animations. It's a fairly old link, but about 80 models and 40 animations. They also take you directly to a download page instead of the usual hoops you need to jump through for MMD. I checked a few of the links and they look like they're still valid.
I'm working on a more thorough guide, but in the meantime, here's a good jump start.
