I found this fascinating and had to share.
The Korean alphabet, Hangul, is being used by villagers in the southeastern Indonesian city of Baubau to preserve their own indigenous dialect, Cia-Cia.
This is amazing. I love that it is spearheaded by the speakers themselves. What a wonderful way to preserve their language. I had no idea there were so many languages in Indonesia. Also wonderful, Sean, about preserving the Aborigines dialects!
This is fabulous, KFG. Itβs so important that the preserving of this language is happening for the people there. We have a national based project here that has recorded all dialects as Aborigines, despite their rock art (going back 60,000 years) had no other form of communication other than verbal.
