New Render Engine Experiment

All the SkinRays renders to date have been done in Daz Studio using the built-in iRay render plugin from Nvidia. Have tried moving her and all her stuff to Blender with some success, but it never quite comes out the way it could. But Blender has Eevee, a nice fast game engine type renderer for previewing. That would speed things up by 100x or something, if a game engine could make her look even 80% as good as a real raytracing engine like iRay does.

Last week the makers of Daz Studio added a new game engine type renderer like Eevee called Filament. It comes from Google. People are starting to figure out how to make its renders look good. It is so fast you can move around the scene without waiting. Here's the same render as the one at the top of this post done in Filament:

So there's a long way to go to make her look better. Some things don't work at all like glowing materials. Skin and lighting obviously need lots of work. This render here is without changing a single thing, just hitting the button to render it out with Filament. Am reading all the tips in the Daz forums and trying some stuff but in the end have figured out how to render in iRay really quickly using 4 years of tricks so you don't have to worry about quality dropping anytime soon, or ever. It's all about ramping it up and staying on the cutting edge at SkinRays.

As far as this image series, will post it in a few days if it works out.
