weekly talk 129

Hoy here we are

here we go

Workflow:
Was a bit sick at the end of last week, seems to have eased much now, but it slowed my work down a bit X)
Hard to concentrate on work when every 20 minute you gotta rush to the WC.
Anyway, that aside did only 3 comms, and advanced on another project.. not my best week.
At the end of this week i'll go for a days seeing my family, so this time i'll mostly rush the patreon reward and try to finish them all before Saturday!
Worse case scenario, if my bowel rodeo keep messing with my capacity to draw, i'll finish it next week when i come back.

Fermi paradox:

You know what the Fermi paradox is, right?
To resume, there's billions of stars ahead. Even with one chance on 10 billions that life take root in the universe, that's still thousands of potential alien lifes on our galaxy only!
So why is there no sign so far? The Fermi paradox is kinda that, and also it's what is used as base to explain potential rise and decay of civilizations.
It's also a new game that ll come soon, and this week a free demo, playable is open on steam, and i tried it twice!
And... i liked it. The game is slow paced. basicly, you're a sort of galaxy gardener, that "garden" civilizations. Over time, you'll have to make choice in their development. Spending a mystic ressource. To gather this ressource, you can pick it among the star, slowly, or you can accept dire consequences for some of your species. A War might happen between the wise Prun? Cutting their population from 13.6 Billions to only 2.5?... But it'll give you 50 ressources.
That you can maybe use later on, when Humans, or the Biru, two other species you "garden" to save them from extinction.
First playthrough, Human devolved to industrial age after several wars and only 100k of them survived the next extinction even. While the Prun went all extinct and the Biru too, making the galaxy go silent... And it was my fault. Trying to choose the medium path each time, to avoid dire consequences, i lacked the ressources to change drasticly them when dire time came.
Second playthrough i accepted that some part of the Garden might be cut to let the rest of the flowers bloom. I let some wars happen, killing billions, but letting the survivor go to enlightment as they tried to avoid such path again. I saw the human create an several stellar system wide empire, going toward Utopia, and if the Prun home system was dead, their colonies became a steady and strong  one, able to make them race rise again.

I was quite surprised by the variety and differences between the two. Spent 40 minute on each, and i highly recomand you try the demo!
I'm for myself sure i'll keep and eye on this game!

That's about it.

I'll go back to my cave and prepare my next move now D=<
Thanks for you to read this far, and c ya soon!
