weekly talk 220

Hoy

Ahah! first hout of the new week monday!
for a change

workflow:

Last week didn't finished all i planned, but don't want to say i slacked. I have the habbit to scol myself each time i took my week end, and it's not ahealthy habit.
So, let's say, I did less than i expected.
So this week, wanna finish one comm due, start the january rewards, ll get to my habit of doing one of those sketch per day, and work over bigger picture in the afternoon, to advance the second and produce something each day.
Also, i wanna take a couple day to work on personal stuff once again. Got some ideas for some sketches, and stuff i wanna draw for some times.
If i got time i would start a couple char design comm i got, and also get back to the tau monthly series i stopped last month.
i don't think i would do all of that this week only, but it's all the stuff in my head atm.

Ixion or how i stopped worrying about the infinite nothing of space

Started to play Ixion. To resume, it's a game a la Frost Punk. Harsh environement (space) you gotta survive and make your crew survive.
but i would say, i found it slightly more difficult than Frostpunk. And sometimes a bit more.. unfair. I explain, in Ixion, like in Frostpunk, you can send teams to scout the space around you. In Ixion you send probes, in a fashion close to Mass effect 2. And if you get a specific location you might unlock sciences points, or ressources. Most of time you got several way to deal with an issue. Like "the bridge of this ship we just found, empty of it atmosphere, is closed, what do we do? do we cut the door, or do we use explosives?"
Sometimes the game tell you some clues "Oh i got a bad feeling about explosives" but most of time...  it's not ending well. Basicly, the game is not punishing curiosity, but sometimes it does, and it's up to you to figure. But... it's often a bit tricky. One map, a space storm that was on a the brink of the system suddenly recover allyour ships. No warning that it ll happen. I loosed  all my mining and  cargo ships. took me 1h of game to just get my situation straigh, and lack of ressource mining made me so bad that it actually pushed me to gameover.
It's what i call unfair, Frostpunk was hard, but fair, it told you the risk most of time. But in the same time, the game if it is frustrating, is also quite good.
i spent 4 h session as i restarted the game from zero, just to get a quite better ship, made to resist better the late scenarios.
It's one of those games that you have to loose once or twice to get i think. Anyway, 100% ll continue my run!

Journey in stylised land:

You might have notices, testing a bit different style recently, sometimes more stylized and 'manga", other time more realistic. It's less me seeking a good spot, and more just trying some new stuff. I feel way more encline to test such things recently.
i think i'll also try to give a go to more cell shaded piece in the coming weeks.  Been long since i tried such technique, and i'm curious to see what it can do with my current  level of skill!
So, be prepare, more testing there and there incoming in the near future!
That's about it, it's way past midnight now

so, gotta hop to bed.

Thanks for reading this far

and c ya soon!
