2022 art summary

I'll use this post to make a quick summary of 2022.

For the lack of other news this week, i just needed a break. Been tough months recently. After the funeral i went full into art and tried, and succeed a bit, to get back on scheldule, not perfect but i'm on the way. But even before it i was starting to feel tired. And now, it start to stack up a bit.
So needed a few days off to let the steam. New week taking only the week end for christmas, and ll draw the rest of the month, so.. was the only "me solo time" i could afford^^
Thanks for your patience.

First, the art choice. They're not all my "favorite of said month", but sometimes just the one that fit the best into the small space. Some with a bit of cut work, but other were just looking weird, so it kinda made my choice easier in the end, first pic an image that look good in the space, then between the choice that remain, my favorite!

Now, let's talk of 2022

been a busy year. But looking at the art made me realize wasn't busy all the time ^^
In April/may i didn't worked that much, and clearly up my game in the other half of the year.
First year as a full time pro artist, and it was kinda crazy. There was a lot of stress, and first i wanna thanks you guys! You paid for my expenses, my meals. And it's all out of the love for my stuff. So... thanks you for that trust.

This year i discovered that what i lacked the most was self discipline. It's kinda hard when you're alone to force yourself to draw all the days. I love to draw, and when i'm on it there's no issue, but it's just the "leave that goddam youtube video and start sketchin" that is the hardest part.
if you had to work from home when we were all under confinement rules, i think you see what i'm talking about.
It worked somehow this year, but in the second half, i self disciplined me more and i had a better outcome in terms of productivity. So, for next year, it's the thing i wanna work, consistency in work habbit.

Art wise, i wanted to work on learning how to light this year, and if i'm not sure i get it all good yet, there's clearly a step up. And funny enough, the last piece i did i liked a lot the light.. and it came in me seeking "economy" in effects.
So it's a bit the lesson i learned this year. Quality over quantity.
I wanna keep going into a sort of "simplification", my favorite part in drawing is the drawing itself, sketching, drawing the face expressions, the details. I wanna focus on that for the future.

On the matter of the subject, i kinda feel like i could love to draw more goblins once again. I think me asking and proposing sooo many subject with those littles fuckers gave you an hint about it.

So to resume:

Busy year, learned stuff about light and light use in drawing. Upped my game a bit more once again.

What to exepect for next year?

Keep getting better!

Thanks you again for this year!

and c ya soon!
