So we haven't shown anything after announcing the comic so i wanted to make something that'll get people excited. Alyx with her hood up is going to be look throughout the comic.
It all starts with a pencil sketch, then thrown into photoshop with the logo I made with my minimal graphic design experience. Add some solid shading to get the look I'm going for and to share with Ross the idea. I'm always inspired by Ashley Wood and his use of texture in his ink work, so I wanted to throw a bit of textured brushes in there for added flavor. The comic is planned to be in black & white but Ross and I liked how the purple looked. Who knows, maybe the comic will be monotone. Then final inks in procreate with screentones, thrown back into photoshop for color correction, and a lot of noise filtering later. Convoluted process but it works.
