ALYX BOND: RUNWAY 007 | ALYX BOND concept

I had the opportunity to design an alternate reality version of Alyx as James Bond for an ambitious HLA mod campaign, Alyx Bond: Runway 007, by Eagle One. It's inspired by GoldenEye and the Bond films. When I heard about Runway,  I fell in love with the idea of Alyx as Bond, naturally. So when I joined the Eagle One team, I really wanted to create my idea of what Alyx would look like in this alternate reality. It started out as a fun thing I wanted to do for my own enjoyment since, at the time there were no plans to have Alyx shown in-game. But as of recently, a modeler friend of mine, Paul Goldhawk, wanted to help make this concept come to a reality. More on that in the coming posts...

The gloves, another idea I pitched to the team is to have custom glove models. If we couldn't get the Alyx model in the game, I would at least like to have the gloves done as I think they would really help the player delve into the character of Alyx Bond. Black leather driving gloves with some fingers missing to make it, dare I say, tacti-cool. (Thanks to my friend Elias for giving me insight on tactical gear and its functions!) Those are just the gloves alone!! I slapped a filtered png of the GG's onto the gloves just to see if the shape worked. Coming up with a design for the Russell's is another challenge in of itself. How do we take this scrappy, compact piece of tech and make it more, sleek, refined, while still giving critical information to the player and looking like it belongs in the HL universe.. I've wracked my brain about it for a while and I'm still working on it. It's very hard!

The last photo was the initial ref document i sent to my friend to model Alyx... This only scratched the surface when I came to giving Paul ref and notes.. that was a whole other new, insightful and fun experience.
