A Place in the West Ch.8 Alt Cover

Over a year ago, Ross at APW asked me to do the alt cover for ch.8 and I couldn't be happier to do so! The main inspiration for this cover is of course the HLA key art. The third image was the initial thumbs i showed to Ross. At first I didn't want to just do the same composition as the key art, but that what was being asked of me, just with the Remnant (tower) and Dreyfus the Vortiguant with snow. But, I decided to just do an homage as I felt like I was ripping it off instead of just being explicit that this is a reference to the original art. (I hope that made sense, my brain is fried today).

I don't normally paint backgrounds like this, as I am afraid of them. But it was a great way to break into that work flow and helped me feel a little more confident about BG paintings as I want to some story beat paintings for my personal Episode 3 project. I was basically doing this scared, but I really tried to push myself here (and Procreate's processing power. I had to switch to Photoshop for the last 15% of the piece since procreate couldn't handle all the layers).
