Humanoid GLaDOS
Added 2023-02-08 19:25:55 +0000 UTCUpgrading my humanoid/gjinka GLaDOS design for a personal illustration idea. Very much inspired by 90s Thierry Mugler fashion here, specifically the Spring 1997 collection. The shapes i saw in the designs are very much how i think about GLaDOS, really simple and classy, yet sophisticated, with that refined Aperture aesthetic. It checks off all the boxes on things I like to design!
My goal was to translate the shape of her body to a dress shape.. Translating the arms was kinda tough, i was jumping back and forth on how to design then but that kind of came down to her body base. i needed to figure that out since i really wanted the oval cut out shape at the chest to be present, and i really thought it needed to be black underneath.
Third images and on were my first iterations back in 2021. I was more inspired by Caroline's character design for obvious reasons. I'm starting to think of my old design as a earlier humanoid design, very much more Caroline, then GLaDOS' personality slowly evolves into a more unique design. I still really like the old design, (and so did tumblr apparently!) but feels a little too on the nose with the scarf and dress looking back at it.
