October Report

That went by quickly! October was mainly dedicated to more drawings for my solo show. I got about 10 finished pencil drawings, debating on doing an 11th but it involves some more concept arting that i don't know if i want to cram in just now. This week will be dedicated to inking + scanning as the framer needs ideally 3 weeks to frame everything im told.

My solo show, CYBERIA, will be on display at Ember + Forge in Erie, PA throughout the month of December and pieces will be available for purchase.

Previews of a few drawings ready for ink.

Shortly before i left, i overcame my fear of painting finished a portrait of my OC, Ariadna, aka Sniper Gal. Ariadna is a name i've been pondering/testing out with the help of a friend, the one who planted the initial indulgent OC/blorbo idea for Ariadna.

I spent a week in LA to attend my first Lightbox Expo and I'm very happy i was able to go this year because I had a great time! I won one of the Lightbox portfolio reviews with Peter Han(!) and then i spotted Kris Anka + Alexandria Neonakis, two of some of my favorite concept/character designers, and casually asked them if they would review my portfolio, and they said yes!! It was so awesome to hear Kris and Alexandria talk about character design and they gave me some equally great feedback that gave me a lot more confidence in my work and a chance at a studio job. I know what they said and i know what i need to do now :)
I got to catch up witth friends, bought some cool stuff, saw Dermot Power + Rob Bliss talk about concept art + their respective journeys, and got some great feedback on my work, leaving me extrememly satisfied with Lightbox experience.

Not a whole lot to say here, but I have to announce a new addition. I came home from LA and my bf surprised me with the adoption of a black cat for my birthday! I've wanted my own black cat for a long time, so i was really excited to finally have my own. Her name is Sombra, we take her home tuesday!

Anyway, back home in frigid Erie, grinding away.
