Added 2021-08-09 13:55:02 +0000 UTCSharing my latest vid with all of you. I had a lot of fun with this one. I made a 3D Printed photobooth setup that I used A LOT in this video for just a few bucks (assuming you have a 3D Printer, camera, lights) and will be doing a short video on how to make one.
Does anyone know of any good "microscopic" cameras? I'd like to be able to really zoom in there to see more details with future projects.

Thanks for the tip. Funny enough just got a USB Microscope for stupidly cheap but will look into software for Image Stacking

2021-08-13 04:24:16 +0000 UTCAfter years of product photography, no doubt a macro lens on an SLR is the best. BUT an extension tube mounted between lens and camera body can give you some very decent close ups. You can even download printable ext. tube designs. Cheap and effective. The USB microscopes are interesting to play with, but the image quality is not going to match a quality SLR lens setup. If you get crazy into macro stuff, you are going want to start looking at image stacking software/plug-ins. A macro lens can only sharply focus on a very small area at once, but the software will stack multiple images together into a sharply focused final product.

2021-08-09 14:51:59 +0000 UTCI know several macro lenses are out there, but the only microscopic lenses I have experience with (other than actual microscopes) are the iMicro C and Q2 lenses. They are handy little things that are portable as they're made for cell phones, but I think they really need some sort of height adjustable stand for the phone to be more usable. I'm sure that and a decent lighting solution would be easy enough for you to sort out. But adjusting the focus on these little lenses is a very limited experience, and I might warn against going that route for inspecting something like a mini.
