FDM profiles Prusa Slicer / Cura!

Quick update! Working on a simplify3d v5 video and one thing I’m testing is migrating a bunch of my settings over to Prusa slicer & Cura!

I know that’s been a big request & I won’t lie… the Cura profile works great and had a 1 hr clean benchy on my Neptune 3 pro.

Will be sharing / uploading here in the next few days!!

Hi! Not to beat a dead horse - but did you ever upload the Neptune 3 Plus Cura profiles?

Logophylia

Awesome thank you for the response. Just got my plus and looking forward to diving in.

Hey there! Yeah, I'm retesting them as I'm not liking the print results I'm seeing with it compared to my Simplify3D profiles. Also trying to sort out why Prusa Slicer keeps adding a Bed Leveling function to the start of every print

Uncle Jessy

Will you be adding Cura profiles for the Neptune 3 Plus and Max?

Nick Duffield

did you get the 3pro settings in i dont see it in the google drive,

I was basically using your setting for the Saturn 2 with the 8K standard resin. I had done 5 runs, and all came out perfect. My only changes were I increased the exposure to 2.3 seconds, and the bottom exposure to 37 seconds with 6 bottom layers. My transition layers were set to 6. I did slightly increase my bottom an standard lift heights to 4 + 5. Then a had a fairly big failure. Everything on the front half of the plate failed to stick to the build plate. The back have printed fine. A piece in the middle got through about 1/2 inch before failing. Then somehow my FEP was cut, I think by that middle piece. The pieces were of mixed size, and it was mainly the larger that failed, and they were in the front part. Any ideas?

Hey so I did some calculations between all three of the new Neptune 3's and came out with a Dimension for the Neptune 3 Max of 636 x 604 x 776mm (25.04" x 23.8" x 30.6"

So there are two options for purchase: New is 199.00 and 69.00 for upgrade with a 10.00 off for a limited time. Its not worth the cost for new users and only worth it for upgrade if you get at the limited time 59.00. They would probably due better offering a free version of this new version with a paid version with more option later. This is a hard cost pill to swallow.

Yeah part of what I’m trying to figureout is how Cura manages profiles. It’s very weird to me

Uncle Jessy

Supports work amazing as expected but a fair number of bugs. Def not worth $150. It’s definitely fast to slice/perform compared to some of the other slicers. Will be doing a slice compare with times of a complex file

Uncle Jessy

There’s a handy plugin called Profile Analyzer that puts all your settings in a nice HTML format for comparison. I used it to move settings between slicers. https://marketplace.ultimaker.com/app/cura/plugins/5axes/ProfilAnalyser

Hi Clayton, tell us if you noticed something out of the ordinary in terms of quality with the V5!

Geek Detour

Oooh interesting, can't wait to see that! Just curious as my phones acting up to check atm. Does your profiles for Cura also cover elegoos Neptune 2? Or will that profile not work with older neptune models?
