Blog: Celebrating Valentine’s Day At The Most Magical Place On Earth
Added 2020-02-18 13:08:54 +0000 UTCDonning my ”first visit“ button I entered Main Street USA at Disneyland 30 minutes before opening for the ceremonious rope drop. I took a few selfies with Sleeping Beauty’s castle and surprisingly, I didn’t cry. I was just kind of overwhelmed everything on Main Street was bigger than I imagined.
5 minutes before official opening they would drop the rope and allow you to “speed walk” to line up for the ride you wanted. It was always such a rush walking quickly while everyone was holding their cellphones waiting to join the virtual queue for the newest ride, Rise of The Resistance. I was shaking nervous about joining but somehow I did it! Boarding group 23 which is a great low number. 50 and below are basically guaranteed to ride that day so I was so so excited!
Sadly, Space Mountain was down first thing in the morning so we were turned away. But I walked over to the Matterhorn Mountain and decided to ride the rollercoaster bobsled. It was SO BUMPY!! I’m pretty sure the footage I got on it must be hilarious because I wasn’t expecting it 😂 The adrenaline was pumping afterwards and I walked over to It‘s A Small World to ride next since there was no line and that ride is my channel‘s intro song!
Did a couple twirls walking over to the planet, Batuu (AKA Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge) and mentally prepared myself cause I’m a huge Star Wars fan. Surprisingly I didn’t cry walking into the land but wow the theming! I really got into roleplaying and used all the Batuu lingo I could while ”off planet”. We shopped a bit before our boarding group was called for Rise of The Resistance! I also saw Rey and R2D2 walking around but didn’t get a chance to say hello.
Rise of The Resistance was emotional for me. I literally burst into tears once the Rey hologram showed up. I’ve had a complicated relationship with Star Wars as of late so.. it felt nice to see Rey, the Rey I loved as a character, again. (Just Rey not Rey anyone lol)
