Blog: Disney Magic On The Omnibus, Oga's Cantina, and More!
Added 2020-03-03 05:26:42 +0000 UTCHeading to Oga's Cantina the dark, cramped, and loud family friendly bar environment was an experience. We were at a standing table with a family of 3 and had 45 minutes to drink two drinks maximum. The restrictions are there for a reason, Oga's is always packed. Our bartender was super cool and talked to me about the cantina and Black Spire Outpost and I managed to ace his in character Star Wars quiz.
My first drink arrived the Hyperdrive (Punch It!) which is Powerade Berry Blast, white cranberry juice, black cherry puree, and Sprite. To me it mostly tasted like powerade (the blue powerade which isn't one of my favorites) so it was kind of disappointing. But! Our bartender explained how it is like going into Space where the drink slowly turns black (or a dark purple) like outer space. Which made the drink 10xs cooler.

(Image: Hyperdrive all mixed up it was originally blue with cherry on top.)
The second drink I got was the Blurrgfire which I was looking forward to because people always have the BEST reactions to it. The Blurrgfire is Lemonade, pomegranate juice and habanero-lime. The whole drink has a red salt rim which I assume is actually Lucas Chamoy. (Which was one of my favorite things to eat as a child) Overall it's a sour and slightly spicy lemonade which I LOVED. I loved it so much! Right up my alley.

I drank this drink so quickly I almost forgot a photo! See how crowded Oga's is?
After that we did a bit of shopping in the marketplace at Black Spire Outpost. I got some postcards and plushies and while I was looking at plushies Chewie actually walked up to me! I didn't capture this on video or in pictures but it was pretty magical. I'm glad I got to interact with a Star Wars character a little bit.

I found my son's mask! ♥
Next we went to find some lunch and stumbled upon the Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland which was about to open. I convinced my brother to eat there because I knew they did a dueling piano performance. The food was average chicken tenders and fries nothing too special. But this is the place Walt Disney had his wedding anniversary before the park opened.

Somehow we went back to Batuu? Honestly it was kind of magnetic it doesn't help it has three entrances! This time we decided to get some green and blue milk. (I got green cause, I'm a Last Jedi stan, and my brother got blue) They both have a slushie texture made with plant based "milk". The green tastes like cereal milk, and the blue is a ridiculously sweet bubblegum flavor. Personally, I preferred the green but they were both mediocre.
We had a lot of souvenirs so we headed back to the hotel and by pure luck the double decker omnibus pulled up near the castle and we managed to get on the second deck! Something I dreamed of doing! The views were amazing and Main Street is so magical we even saw the Straw Hatters performing a bit since we had to pull off to the side for other Main Street vehicles. Actual Disney magic, just going where the wind takes you.

My first day at Disneyland so far was magical, and little did I know when I would come back in an hour even more magic was in store!

(The most expensive plushies, whom I adore.)
