Blog: Disneyland Day 2 Part 4 - Storybook Land, Princess Aurora's Castle & Launch Bay

A ride I really wanted to ride was Storybook Land! A boat ride of miniature castles, and scenes from Disney movies. First you get on a cute boat themed after a character we got Fauna, from Sleeping Beauty. (Which I was so excited about because I've been really into Sleeping Beauty lately) The miniatures along the river are so gorgeous! I was happy I had my camera and got to zoom in to show all the details. 

 The sun was beginning to set and everything was illuminated so beautifully. You can hear Casey Jr. train ride go by us at one point too.  I don't think I can pick a favorite miniature but rather I loved going under the rose archways.

Next, we decided to  do the castle walkthrough! The Disneyland castle is Sleeping Beauty's so the inside was the story telling of the film. There was really cool animated scenes behind glass that used some LED and forced perspective. It was GORGEOUS! At the very end you can see Maleficent's shadow looming over you as you take the stairs out. This was honestly one of my favorite experiences of the trip, I adore Sleeping Beauty!!

I didn't get any "proper" castle pictures. (I forgot) But I did take some selfies while walking by into Tomorrowland!

Next, we went to Star Wars Launch Bay! Which I'm 90% sure will go away soon now that Galaxy's Edge is open. But it's basically a Star Wars miniature museum, with meet & greets. It was already late in the day so sadly, I missed all of those but I had soooo much fun nerding out over the miniatures. Plus it had a photo taking section but, it was a bit dark so the photo above is the best one I got.

Then we headed back to Batuu to go for our lightsaber building experience!

Black Spire Outpost really shines as the sun starts to set.

We spotted some Stormtroopers patrolling the area, they were often pointing at guests who had datapads (cameras/phones) out.

We'll build my dream Sith lightsaber in the next blog..
