In game scoring and character avatars
Added 2022-09-30 17:16:29 +0000 UTCAs many of you will no doubt have already noticed, when you play The Academy series you get to interact with a large ensemble cast.
When you meet a character you usually see a little character avatar to the lower left of the main image.
Above that you see a positive or negative score.
How you interact with that character will directly influence how you score with them.
Most of the time you really want to to aiming to get that score as high as possible because that's usually the best way to get what I figure most people play for.
There are other factors at work, but in general a high score bears fruit.
Sometimes you get to interact with more than one character too, and they have their own paired scoring system as well.
I've spent quite a bit of time and energy creating the images for all the characters, and they change to follow the clothing changes throughout the chapters.
It seems a shame that they are displayed at a height of only 200pixels during gameplay.
They are derived from much bigger images though so I've included most of them here for your viewing pleasure.
I say most, because there are still many that I haven't remade yet for the future chapter releases.
For example, all the characters you can experience during Thursday evening (Chapters 9-13) haven't had their avatars completed yet.
That's at least another 12 female characters!
I'm sure I'll add them too at some point.

The avatars change according to what's happening at that point during the game. So for example, if Bridgette is naked without her glasses and with her hair tied up in the game, her avatar usually mirrors this. You are correct that this particular combination only occurs relatively briefly during the as yet unreleased Chapter 6. If you look closely at the naked Genevieve and Isabella pair, you will see that they don't look happy. You have an option to walk in on them showering during Chapter 2. That doesn't exactly make them warm to you. Especially Genevieve... The other avatar variations I've included so far do give a few hints as to some of the pathways coming up in future chapters too. Amy being one of them...

Out of the character avatar differences which are not just a change of (or lack of visible) clothing, I prefer Amy not having the heavy eye shadow, Bridgette with her hair tied up and wearing glasses at the same time, and Olivia Goodhead with her glasses and hair tied up. The avatar which is Bridgette without her glasses but with her hair tied up looks a bit strange to me since in the older Academy series and the current Academy series/chapters as well as the Date with Bridgette events, I don't believe that she was ever shown without her glasses but having her hair tied up or if she was, it wasn't for more than 1 or 2 images (or it could be in an image where she removed her glasses and was in the process of undoing her hair). Strangely enough with Alicia wearing glasses and her without her glasses, I don't have a preference even with the non-student older characters I generally prefer the "glasses look". I'm not sure if the avatars showing either both/either Genevieve and Isabella without clothing implies something may happen between one/both of them and the PC/MC which may be out of place considering that they are lesbians but then again, only one of them seemed to be upset during the Chapter 4 shower bonus scene so anything might happen. ;-)
