TOS Changes
Added 2014-12-22 17:42:38 +0000 UTCHey guys, if you haven't heard yet, Patreon is making some changes to their Terms of Service. This is regarding pornographic material provided by creators. Whether it covers NSFW art, I'm not sure but I won't take any chances. In the next 12 hours, I'm going to start pulling down past images that aren't hidden behind a .zip. If you'd like to get a hold of the content before it's gone, please take this opportunity to save what you'd like. As for the future, not much will change I guess. Assuming any admin comes by to check content based on what they see on the surface, I should be a-ok with posting .zip files. We'll see how this goes. Thanks for your continued support.

A small timeline, how things went down. The "no-porn" statement has been there since March but only in their FAQ. That made no clear distinction between porn involving real people or drawn stuff. A few days ago (Dec. 21) they've released community guidelines with some pretty vague definition of porn. Since then multiple artists have contacted Patreon if their current page is compliant with the new guidelines. All of them got the same response (see an example linked in aabsurdity's comment) that only sexually explicit photos, movies etc. of real people are banned. Drawings, paintings, animations etc. containing sexually explicit material is fine if the Patreon page is marked as NSFW (there is a flag for this in the settings) and if explicit content is posted as patrons-only. Of course if you page would violate other clauses (for example: underage porn, even if it's drawn and not a photo) then they will terminate the account. So, happy posting! ^^

Dieselbrain (and a couple of other artists) asked them about it and they said that non-photo porn is fine in a totally stock response.
