The Lord of Ghosts Chapter 5 Sketch pages

Wow, the longer these monthly sketch dumps go on the further we get from the date where i initially drew them. This feels like ancient histroy to me, even though the chapter only appeared earlier this year.

This is the chapter where hippo and flowerhead fight it out and an official team is created. It's purpose is basically to address all the reasons these guys would or would not team up because i felt like it needed explanation.

I think it's pretty decent, the idea of hippo sticking around with Flowerhead on the off-chance Flowerhead will let him steal the gem after he's done his "mission" is a bit of a stretch, but logically i think it works.
Flowerhead has no reason to worry about hippo, an enemy, travelling with him because he's so much more powerful and the joke about him presumably enjoying the company of small cute things may literally be the main reason he showed mercy here.

The main thing is about Lord of Ghosts though and now that his memory has returned we begin to see his true intentions for the first time. He wants revenge on Endless War and has a plan of how to get it. It's a manipulative and sinister side to LoG that has not really shown up at all until this point, aside from what we can glean from the journal he made about his totalitarian approach to mayoring. He's a dangerous kind of villain, one that has the mind of a child and no idea that he's in the wrong.

I don't know what i'm talking about or why i'm analysing this comic like i didn't make it.

I like the panel where hippo gets bonked i feel like that has a good sense of motion and epic anime bullshit that i love so much.

One thing that becomes a little difficult is trying to make panels interesting when the only thing that's happening is a conversation. Making space for the speechbubbles, keeping the dialogue feeling real while also explaining things as efficiently as possible and also making the panels vary in size and shape to keep things dynamic is not easy. I feel like i need to study somemore before i'll really get the hang of it. But for now it's servicable.
