I Turned My Life Into A Chuunive VN 07
Added 2025-04-02 13:00:42 +0000 UTC"Wait, don't kill her, Oda Nobunaga!"
The tables had suddenly flipped to his side. They had flipped with a bit too much strength even, as now Rin Tohsaka was the one who could die at any moment. Which Shinsuke Yamaguchi was obviously against because...
Actually, why was he against this? Rin had tried to kill him just now, much like the seaweed. And he for sure would accept Shinji dying. Not to mention how her original objective was erasing his memories which also pretty bad.
"Master, don't show hesitation in the face of an enemy..." The demon-looking girl scolded him. "Oh, and just call me Archer. It's kind of a mouthful to say Oda Nobunaga all the time." Wasn't it weird to talk about stuff like this while pointing a gun at someone.
Shinsuke didn't argue back at all. "Okay, you're totally right." He pointed at their current hostage. "Tohsaka, like Archer said, beg for your miserable life."
Rin couldn't believe it. "Are you serious, Yamagachi!?"
She understood where he was coming from of course, but it still pissed her off. Especially since he had summoned a Servant with her things! And a incredible one at that, this Holy Grail War was in Japan, so undoubtedly Oda Nobunaga would be a complete monster.
Maybe even enough of a monster to drag a complete amateur who most likely didn't even know he had Magical Circuits until today to victory over real mages. Rin seriously didn't understand how he had cheated so bady... and accidentally at that!
"I am super serious." He clicked his tongue. "You tried to kill me, so expect no mercy. Unless that mercy benefits me."
Archer let out a chuckle. "That's the attitude I love to see, Master!"
Rin frowned. "Well, I..." She had to come up with something.
Was Shinsuke Yamaguchi really going to kill her? The boy was undecided really, he had never killed anyone in his life, and he knew it was a wrong thing to do. And yet, he also knew that letting opponets live was a bad idea in things like these.
Though there was also the fact that Rin Tohsaka was a heroine to consider. Would killing her negatively impact him? What if he became some sort of depressed widower that missed his dead wife for the rest of his days!?
"You what, girl?" Archer hurried the girl into speaking.
Rin cleared her throat. "I can give information about the situation. Do you have any clue in what kind of mess you threw yourself into, Yamaguchi?"
Admittedly no, but before the boy could respond, his Servant did for him. "Don't try to scam us, that's only fun when I do it!" Archer rolled her eyes. "Master, I have been supplied information about the Holy Grail, so I know everything that we need to know."
"Alright, if you say so." Shinsuke scratched his cheek. "Hopefully that includes what the Holy Grail is in the first place, because I am completely lost here."
Archer shrugged. "I'll give you the run down later, the point right now, is..." She glared at Rin. "You're useless to me."
Rin gulped. "Um..." Shinsuke's Servant was way too scary. Was it a Skill? It had to be. She wouldn't feel so shaken otherwise.
Rin Tohsaka refused to believe she was just terrified because someone had a gun to her head and was making her beg for her continued survival. It would just be unelegant.
"I have Command Seals too." She had come-up with an idea. "So I can summon an ally for you two. Since you control me, you would control the Servant."
"Risky. Way too risky, and that's coming from me." Everybody knew Oda Nobunaga was a mania. "Honestly, the only thing you did was put the idea of me cutting your hand and taking the Command Seals."
Oda Nobunaga continued. "Or maybe I should let you summon a Servant and then kill you immediately after it? If I killed you right now the Grail would probably just give someone else Command Seals, after all."
"..." Rin Tohsaka was losing hope.
She didn't have anything to bargain with. That was just a truth she had to accept. And a truth that Archer most likely knew since the beginning. Which meant this was all just an excuse for her to humiliate herself before she died. Rin just didn't know if Archer was doing it out of some need to avenge the almost defeat of her Master, or out of some sense of sadism.
And if that was the case, she had nothing more to say. She would accept her end with dignity—
"Hey, Archer... I'm going to spare Tohsaka, actually." Shinsuke suddenly interjected.
Naturally, his Servant wasn't happy with his announcement. "Hah!? Where did that come from!? Weren't you mad at her five seconds earlier?" Those were the same questions Rin had.
Shinsuke nodded. "Yeah, but..." He was beginning to feel kind of bad, okay!?
Rin Tohsaka had become somewhat his friend lately. Or at least he considered them friends. So while at first bullying her had been cathartic, seeing her lose hope had just made him feel bad about this whole thing.
And to add more fuel to the fire, Rin Tohsaka was also a heroine he had chosen, and while he was looking for divorce options right now, it didn't change the fact that he didn't want to risk hurting her too much.
He obviously couldn't tell Archer about the coin stuff however, and he doubted she would buy his friendship talk. He could coin Archer to make her more agreeable of course, but he should probably keep those coins for bigger emergencies.
He sighed, and just came out with it. "I like Tohsaka, I think she's a nice person... to be around at least. I don't want to kill her, so... um... don't kill her?"
Nobunaga shrugged. "Alright. It's her lucky day."
Rin's eyes widened. "Wait, you actually listened to him!?" This wasn't a trap to lower her guard, was it!?
Rin understood that some Servants could be super loyal to their Masters even without Command Seals, heroes like chivalrous knights and such, but she hadn't expected Japan's most well known conqueror to be part of that group!
Nobunaga grinned. "Of course. When a incompetent lucky fool follows his heart, you follow him." She pointed at herself. "It's something that all my retainers learned ya know!? Well, I'm competent though."
"Right..." Rin didn't know how to feel about this whole thing.
Happy, she supposed? This was the second time a Master had held her hostage and spared her life. Maybe she too was a incompetent lucky fool? If she was being honest, she didn't really feel all that lucky though.
"Oh, I'm taking your leg though, and messing up your workshop." Yes, Rin didn't feel lucky at all.
Shinsuke interjected. "Archer, you can't just cut her leg off!" Because that would definitely kill her anyways! Unless healing whole limbs was something mages were capable off.
"I'm not gonna cut her leg off." Archer aimed her gun, and pulled the trigger. "Just take a shot at it. Hehehehe—"
Naturally, Rin fell to the ground. "Ugh...! You... bitch—!" That was it, Shinsuke Yamaguchi and his Servant were her eternal enemies.
Shinsuke gasped, looking at the wound his Servant had caused. "Archer, why the hell did you do that!?" He could only hope she had avoided any major arteries.
Archer patted his shoulder, completely ignoring Rin's screams. "As sweet revenge for ya. I can see how messed up your arm is, after all."
"I appreciate the sentiment, but she wasn't the one who messed up my arm."
"For real!? Oops! Sorry." She didn't seem sorry at all!
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Certain people liked the feeling of adrenaline running through their bodies. They even went out of their way to get that feeling by participating in certain activities.
Shinsuke Yamaguchi had always wondered if he would be one of those people.
He now could conclude that no, he wasn't. "Why did I agree with this!?" He was flying through the air at insane speeds.
But not because he was flying or whatever, instead he was being bridal carried by his Servant, who apparently was physically powerful enough to almost simulate flight with her jumps. It certainly was a quick and easy way of leaving Rin's house after wrecking it. Because yes, Archer did wreck it.
Archer laughed. "How many times must I say it, it's because you're a fool!" She really did like calling him that. "The trip is about to be over, so don't be a coward."
He hoped that was the case, because it wasn't just the adrenaline getting to him. His wounds were hurting from all this movement, and he was really hoping the ones in his arms specifically wouldn't open up. He couldn't complain though, at least he didn't get shot in the leg.
With a grunt of effort, Nobunaga jumped on top of a insanely high building, using it as a base she then jumped on another, and another, and before long Shinsuke was overseeing almost all of Fuyuki.
They were in the more modern part of the city, to the east of the city, and so gigantic buildings were common. Although Shinsuke imagined Fuyuki didn't have any that could actually compete with the buildings found in big cities like Tokyo and such.
"We're finally here, Master." Nobuna let him go with more gentleness than he had expected. "I gotta say though, I didn't expect you to want to go on the offense so soon."
"Offense? I'm definitely not planning on doing that right now. I don't even know what we need to go on the offense for." He let out a long yawn. "I'm also feeling kind of sleepy." He had definitely pushed himself to his limits today.
"That's probably because you just summoned me." Her Master really was a complete amateur... "I thought you brought me here to snipe people though, so if that isn't it, what do you want?"
Shinsuke flinched. "Um... you're not going to get mad at me, will you?"
Once again, she laughed. "Of course not! Especially since I'm awful at sniping people anyways! I was just going along with your idea to disappoint you. As a prank."
"I-I see..." His Servant really was... something. Dealing with her felt like dealing with a fickle demon.
If Shinsuke Yamaguchi was being honest... she was totally his type! Sadly, the whole actually being a weird legendary old man kind of put a damper to the hardening of his dick. Not to mention how he was trying to get away from the supernatural and its chuuni dangers.
Shinsuke cleared his throat. "The truth is that I was just looking for a place to sleep, and something like this seemed like a good bet." Take me to a very high spot, that's the order he had given her.
The Ryuudou Temple was another option too, now that he thought about it. However, it could be dangerous, it was pretty populated, and tourists were constantly coming and going. He could accidentally stumble on a enemy there.
Archer raised an eyebrow. "Master, are you homeless?"
Shinsuke shook his head. "Nope, I live with my parents. I don't want to bring troubles to their doorstep though, so while I deal with whatever this is, I guess I will be." There were two ways he could have gone about this.
Either he could have made his home his base, and tried protecting it from any threats that showed up, or he could simply ignored his home entirely and hope that nobody tried taking a crack at it. Given these two options, he chose the latter.
Nobunaga hummed. "Okay then, but... well... sleeping here outside is going to be harder than you think."
Shinsuke shivered. "I have a feeling I'm going to understand what you mean very soon." It was already kind of cold, but he hoped at least it wouldn't start snowing.
Maybe he should steal a blanket or something and bring it up. Or a sleeping bag?
Well, that was a possibility for tomorrow, for now he should focus on the today. "So Archer... are you going to explain what the deal is with this mess I've gotten myself involved in."
Archer grinned. "Of course. Listen closely."
And so, Archer did good on her word and taught Shinsuke Yamaguchi all she knew.
A war fought between seven Master and their seven Servants, with the winning pair obtaining the Holy Grail and each claiming a wish for themselves. Basically, it was a pretty chuuni setup, as expected.
Shinsuke pinched his nose. "I guess the consolation prize here is that at least this thing is going to end eventually." He didn't get involved with some never-ending story.
There would be a beginning, middle, and end, and then the chuuni would leave the town. Well, not exactly with Rin Tohsaka and the Matous wandering around, but close enough. Actually, no, it wasn't close enough for Shinsuke Yamaguchi specifically, seeing as he had coined so many troublesome women at this point.
Archer chuckled. "Are you scared? Chicken." His Servant really didn't hold back on the insults!
Shinsuke shrugged. "Not really. I mean, I already beat two Masters, so this thing is looking like a piece of cake." Although Rin and Shinji were probably the weakest Masters on the war.
That was just common escalation, after all.
Even so, he had summoned girl Oda Nobunaga. And he was Japanese. Was there any better chuuni-type protagonist Servant he could have gotten? Perhaps only someone like girl King Arthur, really.
It was worth remarking on that Shinsuke Yamaguchi did not know about Servants being stronger if summoned on their homeland. He just knew how these things went.
Nobunaga tilted her head. "Two Masters...?"
"Yeah, the first one is the one who gave me all these wounds." Shinsuke put a hand on his chin. "His name is Shinji Matou, and he has Rider on his side... I guess we should aim for him tomorrow."
Though Shinsuke had a feeling things wouldn't go as smooth as he hoped. He had made Rider a heroine, after all. He didn't blame himself for that though, seeing as it was a life-or-death situation, but it could cause problems.
Especially because much like with Rin Tohsaka, he didn't feel comfortable putting down a heroine. But at least he also didn't see Rider as a friend, even if she had technically been his first Servant.
Archer raised a finger. "Just keep in mind that for the secrecy of magecraft, the war is supposed to be fought during the night."
"Um? You actually care about that type of stuff? If the enemy is expecting me to fight during the night, of course I'll attack them during the day." Although maybe he should avoid Shinji during the day specifically.
The guy went to school during the day, which meant there would be tons of normal people around. Not exactly a good place to start a fight. Maybe that was why Shinji kept going to school even as the war started? To have a shield he could against morally good people? That was a pretty risky shield to deploy...
"Nah, I don't. Just testing your brain." She poked his cheek, looking extremely smug. "We have already established that you're kind of dumb, so I have to keep you on your toes." Oi.
She continued. "Speaking of rule breaking, we are supposed to register our place in the war as contestants by going to the church. We aren't gonna do that, of course." She spoke as if she was the master.
Shinsuke was guessing that if he didn't want to fight during the day, she would have just ignored his orders and gone for it
He gave his Servant a thumbs-up. "Sure. I bet the church is evil or something anyways."
"Why? You know something that I don't?"
"No, I just have common sense." There was no way the church wasn't evil! Shinsuke knew how these things worked.
Except not really. Nobunaga hadn't actually explained what registering their place really mean. Was there a chuuni-type church organization? Were priests secretly mages or something? Shinsuke had no damned idea.
Nobunaga looked away. "I wonder if that's really true..." What was that supposed to mean!? "Anyways, before you go to sleep, Master, I have one... two more questions to you. And they're really important questions, the type I should have asked from the moment I got summoned."
Archer raised two fingers. "So, what's your wish? And what's your name?" Since her Master had yet to ask if he could back away from the Holy Grail War, surely he had a wish?
Archer wouldn't care if he wanted a harem or infinite money, or even if he wanted to plunge the world into eternal war... but she would have to break their contract if he wanted to eliminate everything from existence. That was pretty much her only line, though.
"My name huh..." He put a hand on his neck in embarrassment. "I can't believe I haven't even told you that..." Maybe this type of attitude was why he needed a goddess' help to get a girlfriend. "My name is Shinsuke Yamaguchi."
He took a deep breath. "And as for my wish..." What was his wish?
Should he wish for a girlfriend? That felt wasteful, considering the existence of the coins. Money? That was supposed to be handled by his many supposedly rich girlfriends. Immortality? He didn't want to outlive everyone he loved though.
...An idea suddenly sprang to his mind.
He wanted to be separated from this chuuni life... so couldn't he ask the Holy Grail to break the bonds he had established so far? That way he could actually coin normal (but still rich) girls. Hell, he could even fix the harem thing he did out of greed.
Well, the goddess did say that nothing would be able to undo turning someone into a heroine... but who said the goddess was superior to the Holy Grail?
It was certainly something worth considering. "Archer... is the grail omnipotent? Does it have a limit?"
"Oh? The hell is your wish that you are asking me that type of question?" Now she was getting a bit excited. "Yes, the Holy Grail is omnipotent." At least that's what her information told her.
Shinsuke looked down, lost in though. "I see... then..." Could he even trust the Holy Grail though?
Ever since he coined the girls he had been treating life like a Visual Novel, and ever since he discovered magic he has been treating life like a Chuunige. So far, that methodology hadn't failed him. Which brought up the question... Would a wish granter really work, without any drawbacks, in a Chuunige?
Absolutely not. There would definitely be some caveat, such as the Holy Grail being secretly evil or a super alien weapon that only shot laser. That was just how these stories tended to go.
But there was always a chance... A chance Shinsuke would have to bet on. "My wish is to undone a mistake I did in the past. That's all."
Oda Nobunaga's eyes widened. "That must have been some crazy mistake if you're using a wish on it!" She couldn't even imagine it! "But sounds good enough for me! By the way, my wish is reincarnating." She extended a open hand. "Sounds good?"
He shook the hand. "Sounds good." He had no doubt she had some nefarious thing she wanted to do once she got a new chance at life.
But hey, as long as she wasn't bothering him specifically, Shinsuke didn't care.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
"So this is the place..." Nobunaga put her hands on her hips and looked around. "I still can't sense anything, to be honest."
"I didn't even know you could sense things in the first place." His throat hurt more and more as he talked. Turns out sleeping in a cold place taking wind to your place for a whole night was a bad idea.
Nobunaga nodded. "Yeah, I can sense things. More specifically, Servants. It's harder to do so if they're in ghostie form."
The hell was that? Shinsuke was beginning to believe maybe he should have taken Rin's offer of information after all. Because clearly Oda Nobunaga marched on her own tempo.
"Hah..." He let out a sigh, trying to mask his annoyance. "Let's just wander around for a bit. If we don't stumble on anything... well, this was just an hunch I had anyways, nothing said it would be correct."
His hunch was simple, Illyasviel Von Einzbern was a Master.
It was a possibility, considering she was friends with Rin. Although she also hadn't attacked Rin either. In the end, just to be safe, Shinsuke decided to come to that creepy forest he had avoided. If Illya was a Master, he would defeat her with a surprise attack during daytime, if she wasn't a Master... At least walking around the woods was cool?
Normally the fear of being mauled by a bear would stop him from thinking the latter, but he was pretty sure Oda Nobunaga was far more scary than a bear. And that would keep being true even if she wasn't a magical entity or whatever.
"Um... Then let's see if you're really are lucky, Master, or if summoning me was just a fluke."
"Everything that involves luck is a fluke!"

AN: Nobu is a strange (and fun) character to write, mostly because 3 Nobus exist, and I'm not talking about her Maou Avenger thing. I mean something like this:
There's the og Koha/Ace Nobu who is a purely comedic character. There's the F/GO Nobu who got a bit more serious since Guda Guda is more serious, even if it's also comedic most of the time. And then there's Redline Nobu who is on that demon grind 100% of the time.
It all depends on her surroundings really, kind of like Gilgamesh. Currently she is in F/GO mode, but she could be pushed into Koha/Ace or Redline mode depending on the circumstances.
Anyways, Illya is the first target. Normally I'd make some joke about Shinsuke digging his own grave, but Nobu without a homeland buff is already a decently good match-up for Herc. With it... Well, Illya might actually be the underdog here.

I wonder if Rin summons Assassin. You think we might get Assassin Okita?

2025-04-07 15:52:46 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter! It’ll take time for Rin to recover lol. Jobbed to a normal human, lost her chance to summon a servant, got shot in the leg and her house is wrecked. Maybe this coins curse heroines, because Illya is next…
