2024-07-04 00:11:27 +0000 UTCan interesting theory on a topic not many want (or can) discuss sadly. thoroughly enjoyed hearing your take on this. one thing I wish to add is that the idea that black cats are connected to the devil is not one exclusive to the west. in arabian culture, we believe that the devil often takes the form of a black cat in order to stalk people. as a result of this, black cats are seen as a bad omen because an encounter with one usually leads to tragedy. this idea isn't taken as seriously nowadays as it used to in the past, but it is an interesting bit of history that i wished to share.

I never really made the connection with the cats name to the devil, but your conclusions really make sense with Lovecraft's naming based on the points in the video. If he was racist, why would he name the cat he loved in a way that's deprecating and not as kind heart way (at the time) a trickster based on his fur color? You're the real Lovecraft's cat for making this video!

Although I have to admit I am more of a fan of the long format, I think it would be nice if you would make such shorter videos from time to time. It might also allow you to put your creative potential into some smaller topics you get interested in while researching other stuff~
