Origami, the Angel, raised a hand. "Excuse me Kotori, but what now?" She had been preparing to contact her old friends to aid in the battle to come, but now... now what?

The commander could only shrug. "Now we can go about on our work uninterrupted. Last I checked there's still one annoying little spirit running around, isn't that right, Shido?"

The person she was talking about was obvious. "Kurumi... I have to seal her power..." Should he though? She was just trying to go back. To save everyone who had lost their lives from the Spirit of Origin. Did he really have the right to stop that?

Kotori nodded. "Ayup. And we also have to figure out the mystery behind Mio Takamiya... There's no way she has no relation to your or Mana with a name like that."

"Furthermore, even though DEM will probably fall soon, I don't know what happened to Beelzebub or the Nibelcoles... So everybody still needs to keep their guard up, got it!?" She was met with a chorus of agreements.

Tohka, the Princess, had one more question however. "Kotori, there is one thing I would like to add." Her face was the picture of utmost seriousness.

Kaguya, one of the Children of Typhoon whispered to her sister. "I just know something stupid is about to happen..."

Yuzuru, one of the Children of Typhoon, whispered back. "Agreement. That is typically how she acts."

Shido who had evasdropped, could only smile. He personally found Tohka to be very cute, especially with how she always tried his best. Well, he was also sure the other two hadn't meant anything bad with that comment.

The commander sent her a thumps. "Go ahead." It was rare for Tohka of all people to give insight...

The Princess scowled. "This must be a trap by that evil fiend!" It sounded just like the type of thing that he would do! "There's no way yummy food would ever betray someone and get them killed!"

Mukuro, the Zodiac, bowed. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize I accidentally sealed off her intelligence." That had to be it.

Tohka cutely tilted her head. "What does my intelligence have to do with anything...?"

Shido could only laugh, as he walked over and pat her head. "Don't worry Tohka, Mukuro is just joking around." And now to adress the main issue. "And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but... food can indeed kill you."

It was a miracle she didn't inverse right then and there. "I can trust no one."

The days became weirdly tranquil.

Westcott didn't suddenly come back from the dead revealing a grand plan to tip the scales. Kurumi didn't show her face, most likely due to the inner conflict she felt about Shido Itsuka. And no goddess suddenly uprooted their little world.

It was great. And also kind of boring.

Kotori could only mindlessly change the channel. "Ugh, is there nothing interesting happening?" She almost wished she would discover some other grand conspiracy.
