It's True Love 68
Added 2024-07-15 23:15:12 +0000 UTCThere were two gateways to a different world in her class.
The first one was called Shiki Tohno.
He was a boy who raidiated a unknown aura the couldn't quite put her finger on it for the long time. She liked him though, even though his presence put her on edge, because outside of that he was a really kind boy.
The contradiction of his kindness and his presence was something truly alien to her. It was something she just couldn't look away from no matter how hard she tried. It was something she wanted to look at it closer... to see if his presence would eat his kindness, or if his kindness would eat his presence.
The second door was called Yuta Okkotsu.
The reasons why he was a door to another world were obvious. First of all, he was unfairly hot. The type of guy who immediately gets snatched away to become an actor, especially when his eyebags somehow made him even hotter.
Second of all was his presence. A ever shifting one. At first it had been one of death, just like with Shiki, that was when he was constantly surrounded by rumors. Nowadays however, it had suddenly become a cheery sunny one.
Also, his shadow moved sometimes. She was certain she had seen it at least once.
Not to mention how recent developments had only been making clear and clear that Yuta Okkotsu was a protagonist of this world. Seriously, how else would he suddenly have twin sisters who obviously liked him!? Or maybe how the idol of the school also clearly liked him!? Or maybe how he suddenly had a supermodel foreign girlfriend!?
Satsuki Yumizuka wanted to get close to at least one of them. To one of those doors. She wanted to be whisked away to a land of the unknown...
She chose Shiki Tohno in the end... even if she didn't manage to make much progress in that front.
Now she couldn't help, but wonder if she had bet on the wrong horse. "M-Man in Black...?" How was he speaking so casually after his girlfriend punched somebody's head off...?
Yuta sighed. "Is it not popular on Japan or something...? Ugh, it's always hard with stuff like this." He shook his head. "Basically, we are gonna make you two forget that this thing ever happened at all."
"For you two it will be like as if there wasn't any conflict on the way back home in the first place. A blur on your mind of nothingness that you will simple assume is there due to boredom." He scratched his cheek. "At least I think so... Senpai is the expert."
Arihiko exploded. "Oi, are you trying to comfort us!? That sounds more terrifying that anything else!" She weakly nodded along.
"Ah, it does, doesn't it?" Yuta looked pretty unconcerned about their terror. "It has to happen though... sorry. It really will have no side-effects or anything." He pulled a phone out of his pockets. "I mean, I'm sure you guys must have read stories about secret societies at some point. You two know how this works."
She certainly had, some of the most famous works in the world had tropes like that. Something such as Harry Potter, a place full of wizards that for dumb, contrived reasons couldn't reveal their existence to the world.
Yuta Okkotsu was apparently a dumb wizard.
She stuttered her answer out. "Y-yeah, we get it... Um... We won't try to run away." One could argue having your mind messed with was worse than losing your life. That person wasn't in her place right now.
Yumizuka didn't know how big Yuta's patience was. Depending on the type of person he was, maybe he would hurt them if they kept resisting, so being cooperative was the best thing they could do.
She did hope a hero would show up though. Even if that was dumb.
Arihiko, naturally agreed as well. "She's right..." He wouldn't even try to resist.
In the end of things, while he was a skilled fighter... that was by human standards. And even then, he wouldn't count himself particularly close to the top or anything. He didn't even have formal training, everything came from his experience with street fights.
Arcueid had punched somebody's head off, and jumped who knows many meters in the air. Yuta was talking about mind wipping people... Arihiko was scared of fighting a guy with a knife. That's why he wouldn't even try to breakthrough one of them.
Yuta smiled. "Welp, I'm glad everyone is so understanding..." He blushed. "I'm seriously sorry if I'm coming out as scary or something like that. It wasn't my intention... Maybe I should start carrying a cross around?"
Arcuied interjected. "I think that would just make you even more scary." She might cry if he went around dressed like some third rate executor.
Yuta raised an eyebrow. "Well, you are a vampire..." Yumizuka had to hold back a screech.
A vampire!? She had red eyes which were pretty vampire like of course, but still...! Yumizuka had to embarrassingly admit she thought they were just some contacts she was wearing to look cuter. A bit cringe in her opinion, but whatever. Apparently though... she really did have red eyes.
Arcueid huffed. "That doesn't mean much. On what world do people actually feel safer around a cross? Especially since this country doesn't really have much influence from the Holy Church."
Yuta sighed. "Fair enough. Still, I would like to come of as more friendly..." His eyes widened. "Wait a minute, wasn't everyone saying I had the aura of a good guy a few hours ago!?" That had definitely disappeared once he started being a weird wizard.
Leaving that aside however... Holy Church? Well, if vampires existed, then Yumizuka shouldn't really be surprised at the existence of something like that. Though Yuta was talking as if he was part of it... Surely vampires wouldn't be?
Was he a vampire too, or something else?
She couldn't hold back her curiosity. "Just what are you...?" She hoped she didn't come off as rude, since her life was on his hands. But she also knew that she totally sounded rude!
Yuta smirked. "Yes..." Hah?
He began chuckling. "Sorry, but there's no way I would be unhappy at being asked a question like that. There are many ways of answering it like some extreme chuuni after all!" This man had a girlfriend. How?
"But you guys still seem pretty scared, so I will answer honestly." He puffed his chest. "I'm Yuta Okkotsu, an executor of the Holy Church who hunts that which threatens humans. In other words, an ally of all high schoolers! Oh, and I'm also a human." Even if he maybe had some alien bits.
An ally to humanity huh? Yumizuka supposed that was good.
Even in a secret world, naturally there would be some factions that are good, and some that are bad. Popular media taught her to never trust something called Holy Church however... mostly popular RPG's admittedly.
Arcueid raised a hand. "And I'm a mega super ultimate vampire! An ally of the planet, and of Yuta Okkotsu!" Those were some weird distinctions to make.
Typically people who went around calling themselves allies of the planet, or humanity, turned out to be secret super villains, but right now she had no option outside of just trusting their wor—.
"And I'm Rika! An ally of love!" She always knew Yuta Okkotsu's shadow could move.
As the monster left his shadow, Yumizuka could only stay still and hope it worked like a dinosaur from a movie. Alternatively, she hoped that Yuta would live up to his talk and protect humanity right here and now!
Arihiko... naturally passed out the moment the monster showed up.
The monster snorted. "Hah! Nothing changed huh!" Her voice was the most terrifying thing Yumizuka had ever heard, and yet at the same time it sounded strangely normal.
Yuta rolled his eyes. "Don't be mean. Though I guess I can't talk when I haven't even called Senpai yet." He started dialing a number. "She's gonna be so mad."
Arcueid suddenly interjected. "Hey, I can use my Mystic Eyes if you don't want to wait." She nodded to herself. "Or if you don't want to tell her."
Yuta shook his head. "No. Since it's you, I can never know if you will do it right, or completely mess up and turn them both into vegetables." Yumizuka was definitely against these Mystic Eyes if they could do that!
Arcueid scoffed. "I have used them plenty in the past and never had any troubles! Were is this distrust coming from!?"
Rika started chuckling. "From your previous actions, naturally." Before long the two started arguing.
Yumizuka didn't know what to think.
A... thing was arguing with a vampire, while Yuta, who she could only assume was also a supernatural being, was calling his senpai to erase her and Arihiko's memories. Arihiko who was passed out on the floor.
What kind of nightmarish situation did she get herself in!?
Before long, Yuta ended his call. Time passed, a blue blur appeared an—.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
She felt like a mess.
It was understandable since yesterday she had gotten the brilliant idea to go out and drink for the first time... or more accurately, Yuta got the idea to go out, and then Arihiko added the drinking part.
Thankfully none of her parents realized the state she had returned home in. Probably because they were asleep once she returned. Which meant she sadly wasn't out of danger yet. It was probably time for the scolding of a lifetime.
Still, that was better than a scolding that would get her killed. At the end of things she could lie and say she just stayed with a friend for a few hours after all. Much better than going out and drinking.
Getting up from the bed was hard. It felt like her vision had static.
Doesn't that happen when you lack iron or something? That sounded like a pain. Though in this case it was probably just her body trying to push alcohol out of her system or something. Maybe she could ask Arihiko about it?
Arihiko...
For some reason that made her mind shake even mor—.
Vampire. Monster. Yuta Okkotsu. A blue blur.
Ah. "What flimsy mind washing!" Was this normal!? Did the guy half-ass it or something!? At that point they should have probably just done the Mystic Eyes thing or something!
Now though, she had a few tests to do.
The truth is that she should probably go down to confront her parents, but if she did there was a big chance they would confiscate her cellphone as punishment. She couldn't let that happen now of all times.
So intead she stayed in her room, and called the delinquent which had gone through the same thing as her. "Hey, Arihiko!" She should also probably control her tone of voice.
It couldn't be helped though. There was no way she could control her emotions right now.
The delinquent yawned. "Geez, do you really need to blow my eardrums in the morning...?" Well, that wasn't the reaction she was expecting. "So, what's up?" Seriously, why was he so damn calm?
Well, this was Arihiko. There was a big chance he completely adapted to the existence of the supernatural in a single night, and now would become a delinquent protagonist. Should she check his neck for star shaped birthmarks?
"What do you mean what's up...!? You know what this is about!" This was bad, if she kept shouting her parents would definitely realize she was already up.
She fould almost see him flinching from the other side of the call. "Do I...?" Confusion was clear in his voice. "Don't tell me you're gonna blame me for tempting you into drinking or something like that. Hell, if that's the case blame Okkotsu too." This guy...!
She was ready to scream at him.
But then she remembered something really important. She hadn't immediately gotten her memories back, so the same thing was probably happening to Arihiko as well. Not to mention how when he got mind washed, he was asleep.
She didn't know if the latter actually affected anything of course, she didn't even know magic existed until recently, but it was probably something she should keep in mind.
So instead of getting angry, she tried prodding at his mind. "Arihiko, do you remember what happened on the way home today?" Surely that would be enough?
"Um... yeah? Nothing special, right?" Nope. It had not been enough. "Did I do something bad? In that case... well, I'm not a bitch who apologizes for something he doesn't understand, but if you explain it to me there's a big chance I'll feel guilty." What a weird code of honor he had.
She clicked her tongue. "No, you didn't do anything wrong..." How should she go about this?
The first thing that came to her mind was telling the truth.
But would that really be the right move? Wouldn't that just make the poor delinquent a target for this weird hidden society that contained vampires, monsters, and really handsome classmates? Yeah, she shouldn't tell him a damn thing.
She knew that. That was the right thing to do. In fact she should forget everything that happened too.
But she couldn't do that. And if she couldn't do that, then there's no way she could carry this burden alone.
So instead she took a deep breath, and started telling him the truth. "Um... you see, what happened is this. Last night we found out about the existence of the supernatural, and Okkotsu wiped our minds of any memories we had about it."
"I somehow managed to remember it again as soon as I woke up, but you didn't for some reason." It was hard to theorize on the why when she didn't know a damn thing about magic.
Naturally... "What the hell are you talking about, Yumizuka?" He started laughing over the phone.
She didn't get mad at it, in fact as soon as those words left her mouth, she realized what was about to happen.
After all, who would believe in something as ludicrous as what she had just said? She felt lucky Arihiko had laughed at it, instead of cringing and calling her a late bloomer of the chuuni variety.
She sighed. "It's nothing. See ya on school." She didn't bother waiting for his reply. Ending the call as soon as possible.
Her next objective was simple. She needed to find some proof of the existence of the supernatural then... then what? Well, she didn't know, but she had to find it. It wasn't something she could just ignore.
How would she find any clues though?
She couldn't talk to Yuta, obviously. He was like her biggest enemy. The same went for all his allies... Actually, now that she thought about it, wasn't he living with Ciel? She was definitely involved in this mess too.
Maybe she could browse the internet for answers? Nah, it wouldn't do her any good. It was definitely filled with 99% lies, so she wouldn't be able to parse rumor and delusion from the truth.
What a tough case...
But one ultimate detective Sacchin would definitely crack!
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
He bowed. "Sorry Senpai, please stop giving me the cold shoulder already!" She was definitely mad at him.
First he had woken them all up by shouting about magical girls. Then he had ditched work to go drink. Then he had somehow messed things even more to the point where he needed her assistance. So even though that was all yesterday, she was still mad.
Without a doubt, she would ask of him to go on a grand quest to earn her forgiveness. This quest might also involve curry in some shape or form.
Ciel smile. "Never!" Oi. "A sinner should repent even when he's not gonna be forgiven you know? So my forgiveness shouldn't matter at all. Just keep repenting." What a twisted logic! Well, it was okay since it came from a cute girl.
"R-right, but please stop being mad at me at least." What a pathetic move for a boyfriend!
He deserved all of this really, especially since a big part of it started from his desire to learn whether Sacchin like him or not.
She pushed her glasses up. "I'm not mad at you Yuta." Is this the part whe she says she's disappointed? "Really, in the end it was a good thing you were with them, since you protected them from that ghoul." Technically it was Arcueid.
"Not to say your conduct was perfect of course." Here comes the scolding. "From what I heard you failed pretty bad at calming them down. Strange since a girl was involved." It couldn't be helped.
Since Sacchin wasn't really his type, his power level just didn't come out. Even he had his weaknesses! He lost not due to power level, but due to a bad matchup! Truly his life was the shounen of the century, and superior to all other series!
She continued. "But even then, normally you wouldn't even need to calm them down... sorry that we haven't gotten too deep into how hypnosis works. I have been focusing a lot more on combat training." In the end ever her scolding had been pretty light.
Yuta decided that reassuring her was probably the best move. "Don't worry Senpai, you're definitely been making the right choice. Normally we would be paired up after all, so it wouldn't be matter if I didn't know a skill like that."
She hesitantly nodded. "You're right... but maybe I should return to the basics. I still don't know why Mario is here after all. He could send you to a solo mission, even if that's unlikely." Being separated from his Senpai? He would have no option, but to cry.
"Oh, and Yuta... I have something to tell you." Suddenly her face became dead serious.
And so his face became it as well. "I'm listening..."
And then her face collapsed in a healthy blush. "I love you." Ah!? What's with the sudden attack!? "Make sure to keep an eye on that Yumizuka girl by the way. Something's off about her." So she actually had something to say!?
Well, since it came bundled up with the first message, there's no way he would forget it. What a smart strategy!
