I'm The Son Of Lucifer 06

Everything had gone surprisingly well.

Fuyuki had actually been quite nervous about messing up the date, but since Iroha had rose-tinted glasses for him, she tended to overlook small mistakes. Which made the experience a lot easier.

Satan chuckled. "Oh my, Young Master, you seem a lot more happy than I expected. You're basically giggling yourself back home." There was a clear grin on Fuyuki's face. "And here I thought you didn't care much for Iroha Isshiki?"

The boy suddenly stopped on his tracks. "I-I don't like her or anything. She's just some brat I used to take care of." Admittedly she had been rather cute during the date, but... she was nothing compared to Yukino or Yumiko.

She was just some random girl with no power or authority. And now she was just some random girl who was his shield.

Satan snorted. "Whatever you say, Young Master." He could easily see through Fuyuki.

The truth is that the young boy was happy a girl was looking at him favorably. After all, as monstrous as his master was, he was also a teenager, and so he had all the wants and needs of one. And sure, he had his two victims, but those fulfilled a very different need.

The ancient demon did think about ending this relationship for a moment, but... he decided against it. If he wanted his Young Master to grow into a fine evil mastermind, and not some overly arrogant foolish monster, this type of positive reinforcement would be important.

Ah, raising the perfect psychopathic ruler of Hell was complicated work.

Fuyuki quickly tried changing the topic. "Anyways, I've been thinking... Maybe I should buy some gifts for Yukino and Yumiko before I head home." He still had a large amount of his monthly budget available after all.

That said, he did have to be careful with it. For now he was managing to be frivolous, but once he ran out of excuses about not giving his captives food, he would need to use money to take care of that problem.

The demon shrugged. "Feel free to do as you wish, Young Master. Though I admittedly don't understand why you think buying gifts would endear you to them, when they're in such a state." He did, actually.

But it was a good idea to let his Young Master put his thoughts into words. Not only did it sharpen his mind, but it also strengthened his convictions.

Fuyuki raises a finger. "Because it would totally endear me to them, even in that state. It's just human nature to love getting free stuff..." He put a hand to his chin. "Though they might actually think there is some strings attached, due to how I've been treating them."

"So instead of buying them a gift that is exclusive to them, I should bring something that we can use together... Like... Um..." Now that was difficult. Especially since electricity was out of the picture.

And so was food as well. For now he wanted to deprive them of that precious resource. Drinks would be fine though, but considering how thirsty they were, a fine beverage probably didn't have much more prestige than a random bottle of water.

Fuyuki shrugged as he walked. "Oh well, I'm sure I can think of something while we explore the city. Let's go Satan." Contrary to Iroha and Hikigaya, for him the day was just beginning!

He had to find the gift today though, since tomorrow would be Sunday, and therefore most stores would be closed.

But it was on his journey across the city, where he found something very... very strange. "Who's... that?" A girl, casually walking around the streets while dressed like a bunny girl.

He recognized her from somewhere too.

Satan looked at her. "Um... A sex worker perhaps?" And one that looked remarkably similar to one of his Young Master's victims.

Fuyuki shook his head. "No, that isn't what I'm asking, it's just that... Why is nobody paying her any attention?" There's no way people would just ignore such a beautiful girl dressed in such a provocative way.

Even if they were avoiding looking at her, they would at least whisper among themselves or something, right? Especially since the girl seemed to be actively getting into people's faces, almost if testing them.

And then it clicked on his mind. "Shit, she has super powers... She's either a demon or an angel..." He looked at his mentor, as if seeking guidance.

But Satan stayed quiet.

The meaning of it was clear. Do as you will, sink or swim.

Fuyuki took a deep breath to calm himself down. He had two options here. One was to confront her, which was pretty... well... scary, he wasn't a demon yet after all. The other one was to casually run away, since she had yet to notice him.

But as he stared at her, he finally realized another thing. "Wait a second, isn't that fucking Mai Sakurajima...?"

"I have no idea who that is, Young Master." Right, there was no way Satan would recognize her. He didn't even recognize Lord of the Rings.

Fuyuki slowly took his cellphone from his pockets. "A fairly famous young actress that entered an hiatus." From what he had heard, before she did that, there were even rumors that Hope's Peak was looking to scout her.

"I like her movies. So there's no way I can look away from this." He began walking towards her.

He tapped her shoulder. "Yo. Can you give me an autograph?" It hurt to be the type of asshole who interrupted celebrities on their daily life, but he just couldn't resist. Also, he had done way, way worse at this point.

She immediately turned around, almost jumping in place... like a scared bunny. "I...!" Her eyes were open wide in shock. "You can see me, huh?" But slowly she recovered. "Ah. I'm not giving autographs right now, sorry." ...

What's with that reaction!? "That's okay. I was just looking for a friendly way to approach you without picking a fight anyways. So let's talk." If nothing else, she had nerves of steel.

She raised an eyebrow. "Without picking a fight? Do I look like some brute?" She sighed. "Actually, don't answer that. I'm passing up on the talk, so please forget about this, okay?"

No. Seriously, who would agree!? "Aren't you being way too calm about this...? I just came here and started talking with you even though you're invisible or something."

She shrugged. "Well, I was trying to catch attention with the outfit, but a single individual isn't enough. Sorry." What was that supposed to mean? "That said, now that you have been incredibly pushy... I am curious. Just who are you?"

He pointed at Satan. "As you can see, I'm like you." Since she hadn't attacked him even with Satan around, he was assuming she was a Demon.

She looked at the invisible demon... or maybe not. "There's nothing there. Mister Schizophrenic." Ah.

His eye twitched. "Okay, that settles it. We have to talk."

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

One day Mai Sakurajima had suddenly been forgotten, and become completely ignored. It was almost as if she had become invisible.

Even though she was a popular actress, nobody remembered her. Even though she was a popular actress walking around dressed like a bunny girl, nobody cared. And even when she went as far as doing something like punching someone, they would quickly forget about it afterwards.

There was only one way to describe her situation. "Holy shit, that's terrifying." Even a monster like him wouldn't submit people to such a fate... probably. Okay, he totally would, but he could recognize how terrible it was.

She shrugged. "It's not that bad, I've been handling it." Was her mind made out of steel or something? "I'm curious about how you recognized me though. Could it be that you're my number one fan, or something?"

Fuyuki waved her off. "Not really. Though I do like your movies. Some of them at least."

She smirked. "Then perhaps you're such a damn pervert that even with this weird circumstance of mine, no bunny girl can escape your vision?" He wouldn't doubt it!

He clicked his tongue. "I have a girlfriend, so please don't flirt with me so casually. Thank you." He truly was a loyal boyfriend. Iroha should feel glad.

She hummed. "I would say that's surprising, but I guess any guy who knows how to wear make-up would be popular enough to have one." She had noticed it huh? "Jokes aside though, really, how did you notice me? I'm guessing it has something to do to when you pointed at nothing?"

And now it was his turn to explain things. "I actually pointed at my supernatural teacher. It turns out my father was a big shot, so one of his minions is guiding me towards taking his post." He decided to not mention he was a Demon...

For now he wanted to keep interacting with this girl to get to the bottom of this, and so it would be nice if he could avoid scaring her off. Though for all he knew, maybe she was secretly evil as well.

Fuyuki continued. "He has an ability where he can hide from normal people that don't have our type of supernatural power. Anybody with a drop of it can always see him though." Which meant Mai was neither Angel or Demon.

She gasped. "Wow, that is pretty crazy. Normally I would keep entertaining you while secretary calling the police, but considering what's going on, I guess I have no choice, but to accept it."

Still, she even as she said it, Fuyuki could tell she wasn't totally convinced. "Don't worry, I have proof. Sat—, teacher, show yourself please." It was time to spook her up.

Surely even if she was crazy strong when it came to willpower, she would still get freaked out by a flying eyeball, right!? Though now that Fuyuki thought about, he himself had never been freaked out by Satan's appearance.

Mai gasped in shock. For the wrong reasons however. "Ah! Since when did such a handsome man show up?" Indeed. What stood in front of them was indeed a handsome man.

Way too handsome with his black hair and red eyes. Far more handsome than Hayato, or any other handsome guy Fuyuki had ever seen. Handsome to the point of reaching the uncanny valley.

Fuyuki grit his teeth. "Hey, why aren't you an ugly eyeball anymore?" As a man, he was angry. Handsome people were the natural enemy of any guy who was sing—.

Heh.

The handsome bastard bowed. "I simply did not want to scare your companion, Young Master. So I took another form." He understood Fuyuki was trying to hide their true identities, so he took the least demonic form he had.

Fuyuki's eye twitched. "I see. I did not even know that was a thing at all though." Why did he first greet Fuyuki in eyeball form if he had this!? "Well, it doesn't matter right now. Can you please tell me if... Mai is like me?"

He thought she wasn't of course, since she couldn't see Satan without him revealing himself, but it would be nice to have confirmation. Besides, maybe his teacher would notice something else.

Satan looked her up and down. "I'm afraid I only see a innocent young lady. My apologies."

Mai sighed. "Why do I feel like the innocent comment was an insult? I don't normally dress like this, in fact I hate perverts." Then she would definitely soon come to despise Fuyuki. "That aside though, does that mean you two know nothing about my situation?" How unlucky of her.

Somehow she managed to stumble on people with actual supernatural powers, and yet her case was so unique that they didn't understand what was going on. It felt like having a rare disease that nobody knew how to treat.

Satan smiled. "Well, I'm sure there is some relation between your situation and the supernatural, young lady. After all, we can see you..." He gazed at Fuyuki. "I'm sure you can figure it out, Young Master." And then he went back to being invisible.

Mai pouted. "So he's the type of teacher who tries to turn anything into a learning opportunity, huh?" It was clear the man had figured out something, and just wanted Fuyuki to come to the same conclusion.

The boy nodded. "Yep. It's hard for me to stay mad at him though, he's just way too helpful." Ah, his two beautiful rings... his beautiful credit card... "Still, how—."

His eyes widened. "Oh. I think I figured out."

Even though she knew she shouldn't, she actually got her hopes. "You did?" Maybe it wasn't something that complext after all.

"It's just a theory of course, and not something that has a lot of things supporting it besides the fact that you haven't been forgotten by the supernatural, but..." He put a hand to his chin. "First things first, powers work like Stands from Jojo."

She had to ask. "Do you have a cool punching ghost?" She wanted one too! She definitely wanted one!

"No. What I meant is that people like me develop very unique powers, so..." He sighed. "If you don't have powers... maybe you're the target of one." Which meant she either had a Demon, or an Angel fucking with her.

Mai frowned. "It's an enemy stand..." How was she supposed to deal with that!?

And she couldn't even begin to guess who had done either. She was a popular actress, so she naturally had tons of enemies that she had never even met! And even some of her fans probably hated her now that she had gone in a hiatus.

What a pain. "Well, thank you for the help, Mister Schizophrenic." She stretched. "And see you around." It was time for her to leave, she couldn't waste anytime.

He raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Aren't you gonna ask for my help?" First she had told him to forget about her, and now this... Could it be that she was a bit of a loner?

She gave him a confused look... and then blushed. "You're willing to help...? Well, sorry, but I'm not willing to sell my body or anything like that." Oh, she wasn't a loner, she was just distrustful.

She continued. "And besides, this whole thing isn't too bad. There are still places where I'm recognized... So in the end this is more like something helpful than something harmful. It's like having the world all to myself."

"Being a popular actress can be pretty overwhelming you know? It feels nice to walk around without being recognized. It feels so nice that maybe the person targetting me is actually a helpful fan." Fuyuki had never heard such strong coping before...

He rolled his eyes. "First of all, you just made things more worrying. There are still places where you are recognized? That's great. But what if the problem gets worse? What if one day everybody forgets about you?"

He continued. "It's also clear that the effects are constantly being re-applied, which means you wouldn't even be able to start a new life. Or live a life at all, since people don't even see you. Somebody is hanging you off a bridge, and you're saying it's good because you like the wind there. Don't be stupid."

She looked away. "L-like I said, I'm not willing to sell my body, so..."

He waved her off. "Could it be that you're a secret virgin pervert? Why do you assume I want your skanky body anyways?" Yukino was better, flat was justice.

Leaving that aside, he was guessing that she was just looking for excuses to refuse help. She was probably rich, so she could have offered money, and yet she didn't... Without a doubt, Mai Sakurajima was a distrustful loner.

If Hikigaya ever learned of her existence, he would have an aneurysm.

She glared at him. "I-I am not secretly a pervert!" Her blush was just adorable. "You are, a-and you're the virgin here as well!" She was right about that.

But as he had showed again, and again, he could lie. "Are you stupid? I have a girlfriend." Her eyes widened, the implications were obvious. "Now let me help you already, dumbass." He would not let her disappear.

Her lips trembled. "I... Why would you even help me?" Seriously, what had happened to this girl!?

Was the entertainment industry so fucked up that she was traumatized into not trusting people or something... Ah, probably.

He grinned. "Don't worry, I'm not here out of altruism."

"That just makes me worry more. By the way, I'm not actually super rich or anything." She definitely was.

He waved her off. "That's not what I want... You remember how I said I was a fan of a few of your movies? The truth is that the only movies I liked where the ones with a specific actress in them. Her name is Kana Arima."

Immediately Mai's expression soured. "The brat...?" Oh boy.

"I can't say how she is in real life, but she was my first love. Get me a date with her, and I will save you... Well, get me a date with her after I save you, to be more specific." Assuming she could do that. Hell, assuming Kana Arima was still even alive.

Fuyuki had no idea what had happened to her career, but it was clear she did not keep rising like Mai had done.

The bunny girl made a thinking pose. "Well, I haven't talked with the brat in years, but considering how her career has been going, I'm pretty sure she would lick my boots if I helped her." Dark.

She nodded. "Okay, I can get you that da—. Wait, don't you have a girlfriend already!?" Oh yeah, he forgot about that.

A sly smirk appeared on his face. "It's first love. Kana Arina came first. So really, my girlfriend is the one being awful here, which is why I can always dump her for my favorite actress." Alternatively... two timing was a thing...

"You're the worst..." Yep. "But fine. Your relationships are none of my concern."

Fuyuki smiled. "Great, now..." He took his phone and quickly snapped a picture of the bunny girl. "Oh? My cellphone managed to capture it. Neat." He would keep in that in mind.

Steam came out of Mai's ears. "H-hey, why did you do that...? Didn't you say Kana Arima is your goal just now? Please don't pleasure yourself with my picture." She was definitely a pervert.

He put his phone back into his pocket. "Don't worry, this is just so you don't double cross me. Basically, if I help you and you don't get me that date, I'm posting this online." It would definitely ruin her career.

"The worst. You're just the worst." She chuckled. "But whatever... By the way, I just noticed something. I don't even know your name." Oh? It was finally time for introductions.

He bowed. "My name is Fuyuki Fujiwara, future husband of Kana soon-to-be Fujiwara, and a second year in my high school." It was definitely a different one from hers. No way would he not know about Mai Sakurajima attending his school.

She bowed too. "I'm Mai Sakurajima, victim of a enemy stand user and a third year in my high school. It's... okay to meet you." Huh, she was his senpai.

Hot.
