I Just Want To Abuse My Power 55

"So... like... I guess I'm gonna meet with everyone back in the mansion and apologize."

Waver gulped. "I see..." He debated asking the Campione if he would kill him or not.

In the end Waver decided against it. Mostly with the hopes that if Yato did want to kill him for his previous outburst, he would just forget about it. It's not like the teen had the sharpest memory around.

Yato scratched his cheek. "Though first I need to go and get everyone back in the hotel." And propose... How was he supposed to do that anyways?

He was going to do it of course, after Waver threw his flaws at his face Yato would not be able to keep going out of petty pride, but he didn't know how to go about it. With Aoko it had been kind of a negotiation of goods, should he follow that example or go for something more romantic?

If he had reached this... very obvious solution earlier, he could have proposed during those dates. Well, it's not like he couldn't ask them for more dates, but that would take a decent amount of time.

Waver cleared his throat. "May I follow you, Lord Shibata? I do not believe I would be welcomed back in the mansion." Though then again, Yato could be perhaps more danger.

The teen didn't look particularly angry, more embarrassed than anything, like a child who had just gotten scolded, but he was still a Campione. He could be unpredictable.

Yato raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Did something happened back there?" An excuse to kill Waver, oh boy how exciti—!

Yeah, he shouldn't be too much of a jerk. A man just had to accept hits to the chin sometimes.

Waver sighed. "Nothing in particular, but... I believe Alice Kuonji doesn't like me." Though them again, did witches ever like people in the first place.

Yato scratched his cheek. "Really? That's weird, she seemed pretty friendly when I met her." Maybe she was just being more courteous because he was a Campione? He supposed that was possible.

He shook his head. "Anyways, let's get going." The faster he could get through this, the better.

Waver nodded. "Very well." He had survived the encounter with the Campione.

Now he just had to survive Yato's eventual meeting with Reines.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

"Hey everyone, I'm back!" He waved at his concubines... soon to be wives... if they happened to be down for it.

Sakura was the first to greet him. "Welcome back Senpai! Just where did you went off to?"

He looked away. "Oh, you know. I met Ayako, spooked the hell out of her, did some soul searching... you get the idea." Did this really count as soul searching?

She tilted her head. "Not really..." And then looked at Waver. "And I also see that brought company, Senpai." And that company was not a new girl.

Luvia glared at that new arrival with all her hatred. "Sadly not good company." It went without saying that while she had somehow managed to carve her spot in Yato's harem, Luvia did not appreciate Waver selling her out at all.

Waver flinched. "Hello Luvia." Ah, he was totally about to die, wasn't he?

You know, back when he had used Luvia as essentially a gift for Yato, he hadn't thought about her eventually getting into his good graces and essentially turning the tables like that. He didn't see any animosity between the two, so it was quite possible Luvia could get Waver killed if she so desired...

Luvia knew that, which is why she smirked. "Hello, professor... or Lord El-Melloi II." Being a concubine sometimes had its perks.

Maybe she should make a list of mage families that she hated solely to bully them with Yato. That sounded like some good fun.

Caren interjected. "Oh my, I like how good the air feels right now." Though probably only she felt that way.

And Yato, because he couldn't read the room in the first place. "Don't be surprised if that changes, Waver is a smoker." He sent a glance to the mage. "Waver, please don't smoke." He didn't even know if the hotel allowed it.

Waver muttered to himself. "That's getting harder and harder these days."

Yato waved him off. "Isn't smoking actually decreasing nowadays?" Though that didn't mattered right now. "Anyways, I'm pretty sure sure you more or less know everyone here, but there is someone I need to introduce you towards!"

In a second, Yato was by the side of his concubine wife, hopefully soon to be wife wife. "This is Skadi! She's a Caster class Servant, and probably the smartest woman I know." It was a pretty competitive spot.

The goddess pouted. "Probably?" Who could even begin to compare with her!?

Waver paled. "I see." The goddess. Holy shit.

Yato smiled as he continued introductions. "And Skadi, this is Waver. He's kind of... like... my handler. Also, he likes being called Lord El-Melloi II, but you can just ignore that if you want."

Skadi squinted her eyes. "He does not seem that particularly impressive, so I believe I shall be ignoring his existence in general." As expected of a prideful goddess.

Waver let out a secret sigh of relief.

Something which Luvia just had to comment on. "He actually seems pretty happy with that." She totally wasn't hoping Skadi would curse him or something. She was not petty.

She was however, hoping that Waver would forever hold the fear of being cursed deeply in his heart.

Skadi raised an eyebrow. "Hoh...?"

Waver paled. "I meant no disrespect, Lady Skadi." Or should he just call her Caster? The danger of dealing with these ancient beings is that one never knew what type of crazy they were, maybe she would consider a mortal calling her by her name as offensive.

She squinted her eyes. "I believe you did not, so you shall be forgiven this time." She looked back at Yato. "And as for you, husband. May I ask what conclusion did this... soul searching lead you towards?"

Yato scratched his cheek. "Yeah, so..." Was it the time? To ask for her hand in marriage?

What if she took offense at how other people were watching though? Or what if the fact that she would be technically the first bring some sort of hostility into his harem?

How complicated... this is why he liked the Soviet Harem! Everything was nice and equal! Well, not really, but at least it had the masquerade of being equal.

In the end though, he had bitched and moaned for a lifetime, it was do or die! Because if he didn't do it, he would actually stab himself. "Skadi, do you wanna get married?" There. Not exactly romantic, but he could make something special later.

For now he just wanted to bring everyone back to his side. Permanently. Or until death did they apart... Except not really, because he could totally kick death's ass.

Skadi tilted her head. "That is a strange thing to ask of your wife..." So Strange that she did not even particularly know how to react.

She knew there were some couples who essentially married two times however, was this that? Could she expect her marriage night to repeat itself!? She would be very happy with that outcome!

Yato cleared his throat. "I know, but..." Ah, she was still going with the whole wife thing, huh?

That was some crazy level of delusion after the whole Aoko debate... but then again, the whole date he went with her had the objective of bringing her right back into that delusion. Besides, Yato was probably the most delusional person in Fuyuki.

It was something he would have accept from now on. Not only that he was dumb, which was something he had accepted a long time ago, but also that he was insane. And by being aware of that insanity, maybe he could more or less control it.

Hopefully he could also more or less control Skadi's insanity. "Well, if nothing else I would like to make some official marriage vows with you. Like, get the legal documents and everything." Which was technically illegal right now, but...

Fuck the law.

Skadi's eyes widened. "Oh my, this is a pleasant surprise, I must say!" Yato was normally not this serious about their marriage!

Had something awakened withing her husband!?

Sakura interjected. "I must say, Senpai, now I'm curious about what happened during this soul searching of yours as well..." Seriously!

She was trying to act calm, but she was very much freaking out. Her Senpai was never too into... marriage, but that seemed to have changed now. And he was picking the goddess of all people! Who was still really useful, and Sakura felt better losing to her than Rin, but...

Yato looked away. "I guess... I'm just gonna come out and say it." In the end this was a harem, so it was good to hear what they had to say. "I decided to marry everyone." He took a pause. "In my harem. I'm not gonna literally marry everyone." That would be scary.

Luvia's eye twitched. "There was really no need to specify that." But her reaction went more or less unheard.

Mostly due to Sakura screeching. "Really!? Are you really going to do that, Senpai!?" She was feeling strangely great. Sakura didn't feel great about many things nowadays, but this was definitely the exception to the rule.

Caren clasped her hands together. "Oh my, this introspection must have been a blessing from the lord!" Or maybe not, seeing as that lord was most likely Yato's enemy nowadays.

She didn't care though! Her son was no longer going to be a bastard!

Would that make him weaker or stronger?

"Actually, it was a blessing from Ayako." He started raising fingers. "And Waver, and Kirei, and Gilgamesh, and maybe Laeticia to a certain extent..." He felt like most of the credit should go towards Waver and Ayako though.

Skadi frowned. "Of course that golden brute helped put this stupid idea of my husband gathering multiple spouses... Though I suppose I can't do much about it."

Yato tilted his head. "So... is everyone down?" This felt weird. Even weirder than how his... proposal to Aoko had gone.

It was better than no proposal though. He supposed.

Skadi smiled. "I have long ago accepted to spend the rest of my most likely immortal life with you. Nothing has really changed." Actually, it certainly had. Those whores would be getting more arrogant now, so Skadi would need to discipline them here and there.

Sakura was almost crying. "Of course I accept!" She never even thought she would get the chance to date someone, much less marry them.

Life really had become like a dream.

Though she had thought life had become a nightmare when that Aoko girl appeared, she had quickly been proven wrong when her Senpai took her on a date! And then killed her family! And was now proposing to her.

Caren looked like she was praying. "I too accept without hesitation." Different from Sakura, she was actually crying. It was certainly surprising. "This is the most joyous day of my life." And it would only be surpassed when she gave birth to the dark lord.

Truly she was winning at life.

"I accept too, Yato." Luvia though it was funny, that she was marrying her childhood friend. It was certainly a more positive outcome than becoming his whore.

Though then again, did it really mattered when he was going to marry everyone in the first place?

Yes, yes it did. Because he had proposed to Luvia before he proposed to Rin Tohsaka! Thefore, in the end of things that woman had simply been his whore while Luvia was part of his first wives.

However, she then realized something. It was like lightning had struck her body. "I'm going to marry someone before I lose my virginity...!" What was she!? Some sort of saint!? It sure felt like that!

Waver didn't want to intrude, but her comment came so out of nowhere that he couldn't help himself. "What do you mean? You are... were a concubine." She had certainly seem more action that Waver, that was for sure.

He was a virgin of course.

Luvia looked away. "Yato and I never had sex... for one reason or another." At this point she was convinced that it was all some big elaborate plan.

Perhaps one crafted by the gorilla that was Rin Tohsaka? It would be just like the bitch to abuse her authority and power to doom Luvia into a sexless life. But whatever, that would change soon, the unpredictable Yato storm had chosen her for once.

Besides, maybe at this point she could play it up being chaste! Yes, she was the one concubine who's virginity was so amazing that Yato refused to take it! She was as pure and beautiful as snow! Before she thought of it jokingly, but she really was a sain—!

"Yeah, it just never came up. Sorry Luvia." He would bang her eventually.

The girl winced. "For some reason confirming that you have no big plans hurts even more." Yato sure was... special.

Waver began stuttering. "B-b-but..." Was he allowed to feel a bit better about having sold out Luvia now?

Actually, that would require having ever felt bad about it in the first place...

Luvia waved him off. "But nothing. It doesn't matter now anyways." Just like her position in the harem... ugh. "So, now that you have reached this decision Yato, what do you plan on doing next?"

He made a thinking pose. "I guess I'll go back to the mansion and propose to everyone." His eyes widened. "Oh yeah, I also have to do something about Ayako eventually."

Waver trembled. "Do what exactly, Lord Shibata?" Was he planning on killing those who had talked back after all?

Yato shrugged. "Just stopping her from doing something stupid, I guess. Like trying to make a giant crusade against me..." He hummed. "Last we talked I dropped the bomb of destroying the Matou family, so she's probably freaking out."

"The what?" Where did that come from!?

Yato tilted his head. "Um? Did I forget to tell you or something?" It was pretty unimportant, so he wasn't surprised. "Recently I used my Authority to kill Zouken... and I also killed Sakura's brother in the good ol' fashioned way." No authority needed!

Waver felt like he had just been sucker punched. "Yes Lord Shibata, you did forget to tell me that..." He wanted to scream.

Why was this Campione acting like his relationship problems were more important than the fact that he had essentially wiped off a legendary lineage? And then kept the last one as essentially a sex toy?

Yato let out an awkward chuckle. "My bad, I guess I just forgot about it since I was busy with more important stuff."

Waver couldn't believe it, he really was acting like Zouken was small fry when compared to the rest!

And it was with much frustration in his heart that Waver had to more or less agree with that as well. Nowadays Zouken was not really that important anymore. At least Waver was glad that he had finally gotten an answer on why the Campione had used his authority.

So ignoring that... "It's fine Lord Shibata, I understand." Sort of. "Now about your return to the mansion... that seems like a good plan to me, although I must warn you of some things." The stress never ended with Yato.

"First of all, there is the matter of Alice Kuonji. I know you trust her, and I wouldn't want to doubt your judgment of course, b—."

"Keep an eye on her right? I get it." He wasn't too worried, if he could handle goddesses, he could handle a witch. "It will be fine, and it's not like I'm going there to propose to her anyways." He had no idea why she was even still there.

She wasn't part of his harem anyways.

Luvia hummed. "It is indeed suspicious that that witch is so... polite. I shall keep an eye on her as well." It was her duty as Yato's most useful, currently chaste, wife. Or fiancee.

Waver smiled. "Thank you." That went mostly to Luvia than Yato. If nothing else, he knew the blonde was competent. "And about the second issue..." Should he bring up Yato's captured goddess?

Propose not. Yato would just ignore his advice anyways. "I have brought some companions from London—."

"You mean that girl, Grey? I dig her sense of fashion." It was all chuuni and stuff, so of course he had respect for that!

Waver's smile turned brittle. "I'm sure she will love to hear that." She won't, she will probably be terrified. Which is why Waver would not even tell her about this.

"I'm referring to a woman named Reines El-Melloi Archisorte. And yes, as the name implies she carries the same title as I." Although not exactly. "Or at least she will inherit in the future."

"Is she your little sister?" They didn't have the sam surname, but the title was something...

"No, she is not." Waver trembled at the thought. "But at the same time, one might say she is. We are not related biologically at least, and we certainly weren't raised together." He would have taken his own life long ago.

He cleared his throat. "Most importantly however, she is conniving and manipulative. And recently she has become interested in you... which is why she followed me here." There.

Now that Yato was warned about her, he would at least keep his guard up. Even if he was dumb, and prideful, and dumb again, he was still a Campione. He would see any threat coming towards him from a mile away. Or at least the goddess watching them most certainly would.

"Wow, she sounds super hot. Totally my type."

Waver had made a severe miscalculation. "I... Just please remember your marriages are more important right now."

Tbh I'd argue that this is more of a "Young Master to proud to be wrong" moment more than the generic "Yato's singular brain cell on Life Support" moment

Thank Pandora, Yato is back to bring the funny kind of dumb. I hope that Waver sticks around in the long term because he's really great at the role of straight man to Yato's moronic outburts.
