I Turned My Life Into A VN 01

Every single day the boy went to a shrine and prayed.

People prayed for many different things, for health, for money, for opportunity, even for good grades. The only thing the boy ever prayed for was a girlfriend however. Which, well, admittedly wasn't exactly something exclusive to him. Surely there were a decent amount of people who did the same.

Nonetheless, it was his prayers that had been heard, so did it matter?

"Hello~!" A woman appeared from the ground.

Although she didn't really look like a woman. Instead, she looked more like a living glitch, her appearance always distorting, and her voice was very much the same. Still, for some reason, anyone who looked at her would be able to tell she was a woman.

They would also most likely be scared as hell. "A-ah! What the hell!? What are you!?" The boy jumped back in fear.

Once more he had gone all the way up the Ryuudou Temple to pray, and apparently his reward was some demon coming from the ground. Was this punishment for defiling the gods with stupid wishes!?

Contrary to his fear, the woman seemed very calm. "I am a goddess of love." She smiled, even through her glitched existence. "And I have heard your prayers!"

"Ah, okay, I'm listening then. Sorry for shouting." His fear immediately evaporated.

If she said she was a goddess of love, then she was a goddess of love, right? He shouldn't have judged her by her appearance— The truth is that he was willing to hear anyone out as long as it lead to him getting a girl.

"Shinsuke Yamaguchi." The goddess cleared her throat. "Over and over you have prayed at this temple for love... I have decided to grant you that wish." She snapped her fingers, and ten 5-yen coins began floating near her.

"These coins were all given to the gods by you, now they shall be your most powerful tool." She carefully gathered them all in her hand. "With them, you shall be given the power to insert yourself into a girl's destiny..."

She continued. "Simply hold one of them tight while looking at a girl of your choice, and then pray for me. The girl will then become your... heroine."

He tilted his head. "You mean like a Visual Novel?" Wow, he didn't know gods played those. Truly, the digital era and its consequences were disastrous.

"Yeah, essentially." The goddess didn't seem ashamed at all. "You know how when you pick a chick, the game keeps throwing her at your face and everything else kind of disappears due to how much attention she's hogging? It's like that."

The goddess raised a finger. "The girl who you will pick will become destined to be with you, as if you had locked into her route. This can't really be reversed, though, and even if you two died and your souls got cleansed at the Root, you two would still be destined lovers. So be careful."

The boy put a hand on his chin. "I see, I see." What was the Root though!? "Isn't that kind of... messed up though?" In the end, it was essentially forcing a girl to like him.

Kind of like mind control, but with more steps.

"Ayup." Once again, the goddess seemed completely unashamed. "You were the one praying for love, though. What did you expect? Well, if it bothers you, you can just not use the coins."

She looked at the coins in her hand. "And to be honest, I recommend that if you do use them, you only use one coin. Making a harem may seem appealing, but... could you imagine doing two VN routes in the same VN at once? It doesn't really work, right?"

"When you make a girl your heroine, you are making everything about her yours. Not only her heart, but her problems too." She got closer, extending her hand. "And you will not be able to escape those problems."

"I..." This sounded... dangerous, to say the least.

"If it bothers you, you can just reject the coins. I'm not the type of goddess who smites a mortal if he rejects my blessing." Indeed.

So the choice would be completely in Shinsuke Yamaguchi's hands. He could either accept becoming the protagonist of a VN and forcing his will into a bunch of girls... Or he could leave this opportunity behind.

It wouldn't lead to a bad end, he wouldn't get punished in any way, shape, or form. He could just continue his normal life, and perhaps he would get a girlfriend in the correct way.

Which is why Shinsuke Yamaguchi could blame nobody else for his decision. "Um... I'd rather have the coins, Miss Goddess."

"Awesome~! Then take them!"

And so, the boy took the ten 5-yen coins. One could say he had just pressed the start button in reality.

"By the way..." But the goddess had more to say. "If you lose one of these coins, just think about them really hard, and you will summon them."

"Woah, that's really convenient." Could there be a greater goddess across the universe!? Definitely not! "Thank you. I'll pray to you every night from now on." He would make a new religion and convert the infidels!

She waved him off. "There's no need, though I'm flattered. Also, I still have a few more things to say..." She pointed at the coins. "So here it goes. Only you can use those bad boys, don't forget that if you try to come up with any crazy plans."

In essence, it had protection against stealing. Which was definitely helpful most of the time, but if for some reason he decided to give them away, he would just be giving random coins away.

"And if you ever share a kiss with a girl who loves you, and who you have used the coin on, you'll... Actually, let's keep it as a surprise."

"That sounds scary."

The goddess just grinned. "Then don't use the coins, pal!"

He was definitely going to use the coins. It was evil of him, he acknowledged that, but having a girl's life revolve around him sounded kind of nice in a strange way. So he would be completely ignoring any and all types of moral talk.

The goddess made an okay sign. "Anyways... I'll be leaving now! It's busy being me."

"Oh." He bowed. "Thank you once again for the help."

"No worries—"

"Are you really a goddess though? If you don't mind me asking." She didn't really seem like one,1 instead, he would compare her more to some kind of eldritch entity. Though he hadn't seen any other gods to compare.

"No telling~!" And just like that, the goddess disappeared.

Ten coins. Ten choices.

Though Shinsuke only really wanted to use one of those coins. He wasn't delusional enough to think he could handle a harem, and it was also worth noting that marrying multiple partners was illegal. Still, it was an important choice that he had to put a lot of thought into.

Making someone a heroine meant getting involved in their troubles, so he should avoid dangerous people. That was easy enough at least. It immediately cut off a certain yakuza princess from his list.

Though maybe he shouldn't aim for someone so... normal. Maybe he should try to use the coin on a famous actress instead, or some super-rich lady that could financially support him for the rest of his life.

He didn't know any of those people, though, and would the coin even work through the TV? Not that it mattered much, it wouldn't be exactly hard to test. Even so, he wanted to see more immediate results from his coins, since he still didn't quite believe them.

What if he made some American actress a heroine through the TV and then only got to talk with her twenty years later? That would suck.

So in the end, as far as he was concerned, there was only one real option.

Rin Tohsaka. The school's idol.

She was super pretty. She was super smart. She was supposedly rich, according to some rumors he had heard. She was fairly accessible, being his classmate. She seemed to have no crazy complications surrounding her... And she was also nice! She smiled at him in the corridors one time!

Okay, that last one obviously didn't mean much, but he was sure the school idol had a pleasant personality. Otherwise she wouldn't be a school idol in the first place.

The most important part really was her accessibility, though, because right here and now, Shinsuke was being given an opportunity to stare at her. They were in class, after all.

He discreetly summoned a coin to his hand.

"I just have to look at her, hold the coin tight, and pray..." He murmured under his breath.

But what did praying mean exactly? Did he need some specific chant? Hopefully not, because the goddess had certainly not taught him one. Perhaps just having faith would be enough.

Yeah, he just needed to have faith. "Please let me have that ass... please, lady totally not a goddess..." Once again he was murmuring.

"Yamaguchi, what are you whispering about?" His teacher suddenly called his name.

"N-nothing! S-sorry!" Shinsuke blushed from embarrassment... Though being caught staring at Rin Tohsaka wasn't exactly unusual for boys of this class.

And in the end it didn't matter anyways. The coin had disappeared... Now he just needed to know if it had actually done its job.

Should he approach her? Would she approach him? Were they in love now, or did that come later?

Those thoughts were haunting Shinsuke Yamaguchi as he paced around the school. Honestly, he shouldn't even be at Homuraha anymore, he was a member of the infamous go home early club, but... he really wanted to know if the coin had worked.

What the boy didn't know is that the red strings of fate were indeed already at work.

Rin Tohsaka suddenly appeared in the corridor he was currently freaking out on. One could immediately see how insanely popular she was from the fact that the students actually stepped aside so she could walk freely. It was kind of amazing, like having royalty on school grounds.

"..." Shinsuke watched her in silence, wondering if she had come here for him.

She hadn't. Rin Tohsaka had just embarrassingly forgotten something of hers back in class and was coming back to it so she could get it. Now on whether she had forgotten that thing due to fate or due to her own flaws... Who knows?

And then she tripped. On her own foot. "Ah!" She let out what could only be called a small squeal.

It was an unbelievable sight.

One day, one of the many students watching would go on to win the lottery. Nonetheless, he would forever think that this was the most unlikely thing he had ever seen.

And of course, there was only one place Rin Tohsaka could have fallen towards, and that place wasn't the floor. Instead, somehow she managed to use her own head as a missile aimed straight at Shinsuke Yamaguchi's crotch.

"Ugh!" His vision went white for a moment. Turns out getting headbutted in the dick really hurt. But he pushed through that pain for his future, non-consensually obtained wife. "Tohsaka, are you alright!?"

He was kind of genuinely worried for her.

"..." Her face was still on his crotch, but she slowly moved away from it. "Yes, I am fine." Complete and utter neutrality.

Rin Tohsaka had achieved enlightenment because clearly this experience had removed all emotion and desire from her body. At least for a few seconds.

She silently reminded herself of the Tohsaka mantra, of how she had to be elegant no matter what, and began getting up.

She did so by using her missile victim as support, putting her hands on his hips to gain some structure. A foolish mistake, but in her defense, she was unaware someone had just messed with her very being. Also, her head was kind of spinning.

Double also, she was Rin Tohsaka. Making mistakes at important times might as well be her Origin. And... for her reputation, this would definitely be important.

She fell once again, this time pulling Shinsuke's pants down with her. And as one would expect, her head once again hit Excalibur.

"I-is this an assassination attempt...!?" Before, he barely managed to ignore the pain, but that was quickly becoming very difficult.

Especially since he was now experiencing emotional pain as well. Rin Tohsaka's problems were his problems, so if she got publicly humiliated, it was only fair that he had to experience the same thing.

"..." This time Rin Tohsaka didn't even say a word.

She just silently pulled his pants back up and then got up herself. After it, no more accidents happened. Which was probably a good thing, if she had gone one more layer in, she would actually need to end her own life so she could personally apologize to her ancestors.

She took a deep breath and put a smile on. "Sorry about this, Yamaguchi. I guess I'm just feeling a bit dazed today." That smile was shaky.

It was the smile of someone who would go to a bathroom mirror and whisper that everything is okay for hours afterwards.

"I-it's fine. I think." The most surprising part about this is that she remember his name. "D-do you need me to take you to the infirmary, Tohsaka?"

"No." Because she was actually feeling completely fine. If she actually went there, her excuse of feeling under the weather would disappear. "Thanks for the offer, but I'm just gonna grab some stuff and go home."

"O-okay..." He stepped away so she could keep going on her way.

And that's what Rin Tohsaka did. Sure, this was... extremely embarrassing, but hey, it was better than half of her magical accidents. Besides, she would forget all about this after a few days. This wasn't the kind of thing that happened twice. In a way, one could say she had won the reverse-lottery.

Yes. This was just an accident...

But as for Shinsuke... as soon as Rin was out of sight, he fist-bumped the air. "Yes...!" He could barely contain his excitement.

The coin had worked! He had enslaved a girl! And at this point he was too deep into it to feel any shame. In fact, he was kind of looking forward to Rin having a second perverted accident.

He had to admit though, it was a bit surprising that that was their first interaction, but he supposed Visual Novels were like that sometimes.

Had he just collected a Rin CG?

Shinsuke Yamaguchi's happiness was almost palpable as he left school.

Something which no student blamed him for. Tales of how he had received two blessings from the school goddess were already spreading far and wide, with some even cursing him for his luck.

But the real reason for his happiness wasn't exactly the Rin missile, instead, it was mostly because he had confirmed that the coin really worked! There was no way Rin, elegance incarnate, would have fallen like that otherwise!

But there was one issue...

Greed.

Before, Shinsuke had told himself that he was content with just one girl, but that had been a lie. No, that wasn't exactly accurate, he had meant it, it just changed as he saw what he was capable of. It was like a poor person who suddenly got rich and stopped living frugally.

"I don't need it..." He murmured to himself, like a gacha player contemplating whether he should roll for the next shiny character.

And much like those gambling addicts, he was destined to lose.

Well, it should be okay if it is just one more girl, right? That wasn't absurd. There were plenty of players in the world who had two girls fighting over them.

That was the excuse Shinsuke told himself.

He scanned the area, looking for a cute girl. It was a bit funny, this was an impulsive decision, so if he only saw average girls, he would call himself an idiot and go back to thinking harems were stupid.

So it was all up to luck.

And of course, when it came to luck, there was nobody more unlucky than Sakura Matou. Especially when it came to the freedom of her own body. So it just happened that she was going back home from the Archery Club.

It was a bit early, but the streets were dangerous nowadays. So she would rather go to her home early. And by her home, she meant her Senpai's house, of course.

Shinsuke Yamaguchi didn't know anything about that, though. All he knew was that her tits were kind of big for a first year. Also that she looked a bit like Rin.

Sakura Matou... he knew of her. That was mostly because she was the sister of the most popular guy in school, though. Looking at her, though, he had no doubt she would be just as popular as her brother if she had a bit more charisma. Or maybe it was just a matter of time, she was still a first year after all.

That was actually kind of appealing. Making her a heroine made him feel like he was scouting talent for a sport.

Hah, that line of thought probably led to the lolicon route. That wasn't good.

Was he really going to do this though? If he really wanted a second girl, he should at least do some research before it— Though he did know Shinji threw money out as if he were a millionaire... So Sakura was probably loaded.

Big tits. Money. Was there anything else a guy could ask for her?

He summoned another coin and, just before she left his field of vision, murmured to himself. "Please, lady not a goddess, let me grab those boobs...!" The coin disappeared.

In an impulsive decision, he unlocked a second route.

It should be fine, though. Sakura Matou couldn't be more troublesome than Rin Tohsaka.
