2024-12-20 17:44:11 +0000 UTCP.S. They didn't get caught. This was a project for the "spooks" at "the agency". (They don't use real names for stuff like that. It's all euphemisms.) We're talking super-encrypted everything. TOP, TOP SECRET! Sadly, I was young and naïve back then. They gave me a big bonus when kicking me out. (Back then, I didn't understand why, but I do now.) In retrospect, they paid me off and I didn't even know it. Had I known, I could have gotten many times what they gave me. The whole lot of them could have been thrown into federal prison for decades, for pulling a stunt like that. But they got off, scot free. So, yea, mega-corps. Your little issues mean less than nothing to them–literally.

Like the time a team at Sun Microsystems defrauded the DoD. Sent them a blank tape so they could pretend to have met the deadline, and thus get paid–and it worked. Objecting got me canned. "Not a team player" and all that.
