[ARCHIVED] Bobblehead Bat

Hii!!! Happy Friday!

The batty bobblehead is out! Yay! Ive always wanted to make a bobblehead, and finally sat down and made one! I had created a 3d printable spring which is super springy and easy to print!

There are 3 parts, the head, the body, and the spring which should fit snuggly without needing glue! The tolerance for the spring fit into the body section will depend on your filament and printer, if you feel that it is too loose try reprinting the spring scaled 1% higher, or if you are having trouble fitting the spring in then scaled it down 1%

If the spring isnt sitting tightly in the body then it wont work right and will be wobbly (not in a good way), it must be immovable for it to bobble correctly!

**Important: Pulling or bending the spring will result in it being crooked and not sitting straight, when inserting the spring **insert it into the head piece first** I used a small screw driver to help push it snuggly into its spot (see gif above), then insert the spring with the head into the body piece using a tool like a little screwdriver or anything slender that will fit in the gap to push the spring into the body slot.

It was tested from 100% to 150% with perfect boingyness! If you want to go bigger I would print the spring first to see if it still springy before printing the rest!

I have also added a few bonus files, Bat sculpt and a keychain version!

I think thats all! If you have any questions let me know!!

Mine ended perfect! I made two and my kids in school are in love!

Hii!! Oh no! maybe it was compressed by accident when it was pushed into the head? It is easy to compress it or bend it out of shape, it’s best not to use your hands to push the spring in anyway and use a small tool like a little screw driver or small allen wrench to push the peg into place so that there isn’t any pressure or force applied to the spring itself

Christine

I just printed one, all pieces at 100% and the spring isn't long enough for some reason. It snapped into the head fine and then when I went to put the head onto the body the spring barely reaches the hole for it and the head just sits all the way down into the body. Anything I did wrong? I just imported the stls right into the slicer and made no changes to them.
