Fire trial

Leona wanted to recover a big ruby inside some ancient ruins, but she has to be submitted to the trial of fire from the deity who guards the temple. Strangely, the hands that started to rip her clothes don't burn, but she's starting to feel weird. Could the fire the trial is referring to be an inner one?
