On Thursday 9 November, George Hoare and Alex Hochuli took part in a conversation with Catherine Liu about their recent books – The End of the End of History and Virtue Hoarders, respectively. The focus was on the social and political role of the Professional-Managerial Class in historical context.

The insidious effort to make everything about race and identity to undermine solidarity and class consciousness is reflected in this White House’s policies. Just look at the wording of this Kamala Harris’ recent Maternal Health Bill: “And think about it: Regardless of income level, regardless of education level, Black women, Native women, women who live in rural areas are more likely to die or be left scared or scarred from an experience that should be safe and should be a joyful on” https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/12/07/remarks-by-vice-president-harris-at-the-maternal-day-of-action-summit/ Rather than actually expanding healthcare to the poor, we’re meant to believe the Beyoncés of the world are just as endangered by “racist doctors” as poor black women in the projects of the South Bronx.
