3D printing...

I'm getting my act (and files) together. Up to this point I've been designing for myself, sharing the stuff as I go and building stuff. My shared OneDrive folder will be the main repository for all my files with free and open access. I will also put together a Patreon folder with some other stuff in it. Custom domes etc. (drop across any ideas, can't promise on timings) but I like to have something to play with in between the R2 design. Also feel free to drop me a message for small designs. (Hubs, brackets etc.) if I've got a few minutes I don't mind a quick design and pop the output across.

Finally thank you so much for your kind pledges, even a couple of reels of ABS a month is a real help, prototyping and testing does rather go through the stuff quickly.

Working again on the R2 modular body today, just designed the skirt and printing as I type. Looks good so far. I've got a top ring to finish off then we're virtually done. Next up is probably the shoulder hubs and legs. The printed frame is s solid piece of work, so less and less concerns on it's strength. I think the legs will be the same so hopefully we'll end up with a solid droid :-) module wise I'm planning 2-3-2 conversions, arm tools etc. these will be done once I'm comfortable with the fixed frame. Just testing taulman nylon bridge abc that is one strong filament. The plan is to print the drive mechanism using taulman for the wheels and gears, ABS for the frame. Think it'll  be more than strong enough. Add ninjaflex tyres and we're good to go.

My main reason for 100% 3D printed is that you simply have a stock of parts if anything needs replacing, available and within a couple of hours. Imagine a full R2 where if drive parts fail or bits get broken you just reprint. Anyhow that's it for now. Catch up soon.
