Drive gear, Motor mount and slipring published!

I've printed and tested the drive gear, the motor mount and the slipring bracket. Works beautifully so really pleased. The motor I've based it on is http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/mfa-45-15v-large-501-single-ratio-motor-gearbox-n99bn however I've made the bracket which holds the motor removable so I can created custom ones if you've got an alternative motor. Drop me a PM but I will need the motor dimensions and any mounts to see if we can get it to fit. For the slip ring I used a 6 wire 2 amp one from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-5mm-300Rpm-6-Wires-CIRCUITSx2A-Capsule-Slip-Ring-AC-240V-for-Monitor-Robotic/201830726353?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 . All files are now published in the Patreon area along with a board mounting plate (still WIP). Now I've got my internet back up I can publish the files :-)

Happy printing

I'm going to try and fix mine tonight

It was stupid. I knew it was going to happen before it did. I was too eager to get it working and my 5v cable fell onto the 16v line :-(

Well.. at least you can get an arduino in 24 hours.. and for a few dollars only... blessed you are!! Lol

Watch those polarity's and voltages - the arduino's aren't very forgiving.

I now share your stupidity. I've just blown my Arduino mega and USB shield! Argghhh.

Michael Baddeley

Oh no!!! Mine was just a little grub screw which just came out with a small screwdriver. I would have completely left it alone except the rings were warped so I needed to bend them slightly.

Michael Baddeley

Oh boy... just destroyed my lazy Susan! I'm so stupid!!! trying to take the screw out.. I drill into the hole just in a bearing! When I tried to take it off, I broke the drill inside... and to remove it.. well, I slam it with a screwdriver and a hammer. I'll save you from the details... but, this one is junk now! I'll have to wait 2 months again until a new one arrives from usa... I AM SO STUPID!!!!

There was a small grub screw in the lazy Susan which when removed enabled the ball bearing to comely out.

Michael Baddeley

How did you take the bearings out??

The one I got was slightly quashed and wouldn't turn. I ended up taking the bearings out and straightening the two rings but assumed I'd just got a faulty one. The Susan is smaller than the dome, yes. It sits inside the lower ring.

Michael Baddeley

My lazy susan just arrived today and it looks like its slightly squashed!! AHH! Can you do me a favour and check to see if the one you got is a perfect circle? As you turn mine its gets slightly stiff at certain points. Also the Lazy susan is slightly smaller than the dome. Is this right? I can see from the pictures above that this might be correct but wanted to checkl :) P.s. Looking good on the motor mount!
