Battery Boxes - Update

OK, the first version worked, but the height will cause splitting / delamination so I've split the boxes into 4 prints which stack / glue to minimise warping and splitting. Also the front Battery Cable I've put a screw thread on so the knurled fitting will screw in. Stupidly I mirrored to get the right battery box which also mirrored the thread, so there's a left and right knurl now as I simply mirrored the screw also to fit.... I'm just reprinting to test before proper release but as always, there's in the Patreon wip folder if you want to play. Happy printing, Mike

Battery Boxes - Update

Sorry I’ve done another revision. The ones in the wip are the best to date. I do have some tweaks before final release.

My Link must be wrong as I can see the WIP folder and the battery boxes but they don't look like this one. Thanks, Can someone send me the link phul@dodo.com.au

Mine the same in the UK

Cool. No worries . Might shave a little of the bottom of the button so it doesn't stick out so far. Nice work by the way mate. Started printing at the feet and working up. So far finished 2 feet, 2 battery boxes, 1 foot frame , 1 ankle (with greebles) and 1 leg complete with greebles. Really enjoying the build. Using a cr-10 400x400 printer. Runs non stop 😁

One is meant to be angled, this is screen accurate however often the angle is flat as it’s not easy to machine but easier to print.

Hi Michael. Quick question about the shoulder horseshoes. With the side that has the 2 shoulder buttons, is the recess for both buttons supposed to be flat or is one meant to be angled. Just printed it out on the bottom of the top square recess in angled which makes the button stick out. Not sure how to post a pic on here but can do on the astromech site if you want.

Hi, I am seriously thinking about it :-) just weighing the balance of benefits against reliability, worry about recycled filament blocking nozzles with containments.

Michael Baddeley

Do you have a way of recycling your failed prints yet? I am in the middle of making a mulcher and extruder to break down failed prints.

Printed them out but still not happy with the warping. Revision 4 coming up.
