MKIII Body ready to test!
Added 2018-12-31 12:03:34 +0000 UTCHi all,
Quick update on the MKIII body. I’ve printed it along with some amazing (and bold) helpers and happy to move to Patreon test, the three rings when assembled with the top ring and lazy Susan is strong! (and light), really pleased. The utility arms and doors work well, greebles fit like a dream. I could list all the features but it’s a great update and my favourite design so far. I’ve not filled, painted or done anything really to finish mine, not even glued and it’s a really nice structure and finish! Anyhow, happy new year and hope you like the new MKIII body, a worth addition to the MKIII release. (There’s single print legs etc as well). Not done all the shoulder parts etc, these will follow.
Mike,

For the Lazy Susan, most 18inch or 450mm Susan’s will work.

2019-01-29 14:34:57 +0000 UTCHi Paul, yes there’s no instructions for MKIII currently as it’s still in Beta. That said, I will be completing the instructions and getting it ready for final release very shortly.

2019-01-29 14:34:27 +0000 UTCI plan to buy an Creality CR-10 S5 ... Which will be my first 3D printer... with the aim of printing (I guess) a MKIII droid ... Finding everything a little confusing at the moment as there's a lots of files and seemingly no instructions regarding the MKIII ... which Lazy Susan should I be buying for the MKIII?
2019-01-29 14:20:14 +0000 UTCI’m about to start printing this R2 unit and have bought a S5, what settings do you use ?

2019-01-02 15:59:24 +0000 UTCYes, the various lazy Susan’s are the hardest part of the design for me, there’s a standard top ring so I can publish as many rings as I can to accommodate the various Susan’s. What I need really is a database / user supplied diagram of the dimensions of the various Susan’s, as you can imagine I can’t buy all of them. :-)

2019-01-01 10:41:18 +0000 UTCSorry if this is a dumb question but I'm almost finished printing the Mk2 dome, will it fit on the Mk3 body ok or should I stick with the Mk2 files?

2019-01-01 10:21:15 +0000 UTCAwesome work, Mike! Question for you... IIRC you bought yourself a CR10-S5 to print these pieces. Did you end up building an enclosure for it (which I know you said helped you immensely with your old prints)? What material are you printing the pieces in now?
