September Update and Clarification

Howdy folks! It's been a little bit, as it always has been. July was kind of a stinker when it came to productivity but August was BUSY! I feel like I spent more time in Blender in August than I did outside of it. Got a lot of animations done, been practicing a ton- I feel like my animations are finally starting to get somewhere where I'm happy with them!

So I wanted to make a few things known- good news, and bad news.

Let's start with the bad news.

One, I am so, so, so tired of working in Flash. Helixftr is made in Flash. I am so tired of working on Helixftr. I've been working on Ftr related content for something around 10 years now; since 2019 hit and I quit my soul-crushing warehouse job, it has been this constant chain around my leg. Helixftr has some of the best content I've ever produced, but it has also caused me no end of stress, worry, struggle, and frustration; most of which has been warranted, but as the time has gone on my desire to touch it ever again has waned. Making 2D animation in a dead program for a dead platform that's becoming increasingly more difficult to work with sucks.

Since people keep pestering me about Helixftr, I might as well say it outright. I do not want to work on 2D Helixftr anymore.

So here's the good news:

I plan to pretty much fully commit to working in 3D at this point. Blender has been this massive breath of fresh air, it's been a lot of actual FUN to work with and in, and I'm making things, and learning to make things, I would have never thought I could. You can expect me to keep making standalone animations and loops, as you've probably seen on either Twitter or Discord (I really need to start uploading them somewhere and put them up on Furaffinity as well). I'm not going to stop working on things, it's something I both need to do be happy, and also make things to live off of.

And also- there may be bigger plans coming (hopefully) soon!

(Turns out, gamedev is complicated and time consuming...)

More to share on that when the time comes! Just figured I'd give y'all some hint as to where a large chunk of my time's been going lately. 

Lips shut, though! Things will get there when they get there. You won't be disappointed. <3

A very large thank you to all y'all that put up with these incredibly spotty communications posts and my ridiculous schedule and sort of aimless direction. Patreon continues to be my only source of income besides commissions here and there, so I literally would not able to do this without y'all's help. The amount of support I've gotten for my new work has been overwhelming, and I hope to continue improving and making really good animations for y'all to enjoy.

That's a good evolution there's no problem with getting bigger ambitions :) Just to make sure, that means we won't get anymore update on Helixftr including what was in the last post of february right ? So last version is the one from june 23 ?

As someone with a full time job while trying to slowly learn Godot to actually start creating things that make me happy, I get it 🫂

You don’t owe us anything considering the amount of effort you have put in over all these years, the only thing i am curious about is what you plan to do with the half finished character , rather are they just going to be sitting or be sent out to the community?

I can see honestly how working on flash for 10 year may become annoying, i'm so ready to see you 3D stuff! Just a question, will you release like a last version of helixftr?

Most just hoping the 3D vore gaming market blows up thanks to some fantastical hard work ofc. I shall miss the FTR games, fond memories and all, would like to squirm in 3D bellies tho some time.

Honestly, I've always wondered when Flash would bite the dust in your books. As much as I enjoyed all your -ftr content, I know how unfun it is to work with that program... But I'm really happy to see all this 3D stuff from you now, and I can't wait to see where it takes you. And honestly, if the gamedev side of things is a bit too intimidating... Just know that Dragon's Lair is a game. :)
