Monthly Report: April 2020

I'm really not a fan of me saying this is the report for April when it's May, but it is technically FOR April so I mean... whatever, I guess. And hey look! I made a lil' label thingey for these posts so you can see that adorable little goober bird.

And only a day late this time! Alright, let's go over what's happened last month. April was an interesting month for sure, I got mostly caught up in my passion project for https://www.furaffinity.net/user/geckonori , and after that pretty much promptly took a week or two for break. Looking at my timeline of working on animations, I guess it's been a while since I took an actual break; I've been workin' on commissions and such so much it's been a while since I've gotten to sit back and "enjoy" the quarantine for a bit.

On a technical standpoint Regena is by far the largest project I've EVER undertaken for a single character, and I wish that I could say that her release went off without a hitch. Unfortunately, the online player had a million and a half issues with her involving lag and a ton of her mechanics just outright not working, which is insanely upsetting since it basically spit in the face of all that hard work I put in. There was no way to test it or know without uploading her early in some fashion, the offline player worked without a hitch every time. So that really bummed me out for a while.

That being said, the time on break wasn't totally wasted to leisure. I decided on my next character for Helixftr, the blue lizard above named Elroy- in short, he's gunna act a bit more like a more standard enemy or miniboss, rather than the boss Regena was. He'll still be a tough fight, and I'm going into his design having learned plenty of lessons from Regena's project- I'm sure he'll turn out GREAT.

On the other hand, I also had the great pleasure of being properly introduced to https://www.furaffinity.net/user/malfaren ,and inspiration struck in the form of a particularly large, charismatic dragon. I've gotten him drawn up, and the current plan is to just animate some smaller animations with him (you may have seen a couple on my twitter or FA already!). If those go well enough, and Flash can handle it, I -might- consider getting him into Helixftr. Don't hold your breath.

 I try to stream frequently when I have the time- MOST of them fall around 7pm CST at https://picarto.tv/alsnapz . Sometimes I get to it a little earlier, usually not any later. If I expect it to be a bigger stream I'll probably announce it ahead of time.

You might also notice I'm not taking as many commissions- I probably won't do anymore for barbftr truth be told and most of them in the future will be for Helixftr. This means that, if and when I decide to take them, my prices are going to go up considerably due to the increased effort and workload I'm putting in for these characters. More on that when there's more on that.

I think that about covers it! Gosh that was a lot when it felt like I didn't do a whole lot. Oh well.
