Zareb the Zebra - OC Evolution #1

Basically, I'll grab some old versions of art/designs from an OC of mine (the older the better) and put them for comparison with the newest version/drawing of them that I've done.
The first entry in this series is Zareb (and yes, it does spell "zebra" if you mix it up, though it allegedly means "protector" in Swahili). He's my zebra stallion who makes an appearance in my story Lord of the Plain. He has some mystique to him as he's a loner with no herd and is covered with mysterious scars. I imagine he sounds like Rorschach from Watchmen.
The picture on the top right is his original image that I adopted him from (artist unknown). The bottom right is my ref sheet of him from 2011, almost 10 years ago.
Finally, the left picture is my most recent drawing of him. I tried to get fancy with the pose. Not 100% sure on proportions and his back legs look a little off... but I do like his design changes overall compared to his previous incarnations. Especially his face and his new-shaped chest scars.

Then mission accomplished on my end! :D That's exactly the vibe he's supposed to give. ^^ Handsome/ruggedly handsome, but not exactly approachable or friendly-looking.
