Announcement! Betrothed: The Series & Casting Call!

Back in May, I announced that Betrothed might be on its way to becoming a fully-voiced series on YouTube. Well... now it's official! 

In honor of its 10th anniversary, happening this year in September, Betrothed is on its way to becoming a fully voiced video series!
Thanks to Rogue over at RogueLionProductions - who is also one of our Patreon Pride members - he'll be helping make this project possible!
To make it clear, Betrothed  won't be animated, per se. It'll be my original comic pages in a  "motion comic", published in the form of YouTube videos. But each character will be speaking in their own voice, there'll be sound  effects, music - the works!

• Go check out Rogue's YouTube channel and/or his Twitter, btw! He's still kinda new on the scene, but he has some cool stuff already with more on the way.  

But speaking of voices (pun intended)...

Is anyone out there looking to try out for lending their voice to a character from Betrothed?

If you'd like to try out for a voice role in this project, please comment here or message me! BUT FIRST, here's what you need to know:

• This is NOT a contest, but more like a job interview or a traditional  casting/audition call. You will be selected or rejected solely on your  abilities as a voice actor, the sound of your voice, and what kind of  quality you're able to record on. If you're rejected, this is not  reflecting my opinion of you as a person. It only means that I don't  think you fit the part you auditioned for. 
• Please read each character description carefully to determine if you might be a good fit. Ask me if you have any questions. 
• Having a good, quiet setting to record will be key. High quality recordings are more likely to be chosen because this shows me you can record cleanly. A professional setting or mic isn't necessary (you can use your phone/ a cheap mic and sit in a closet [essentially what I do] - so long as you aren't recording next to a busy street or have someone eating next to you while you record, for example). Clear, quality recordings are what matter.
• You'll upload your sample (your "takes") to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc  and send me a link via private message or DA note. I'll listen and let you know what I think. 
• Please DON'T use a sound program to artificially modify your voice for your audition. Clean up of background noise or mic pops is fine. 
• We will need to talk about compensation if you're hired. :) Some folks  who've signed on already are doing this for free as volunteer work for  practice/portfolio additions, aren't comfortable getting paid for a fan  project, OR are getting paid a small amount depending on how large their  part is (and per episode of the series). If you're expecting to make a  professional wage or any large amount of money from getting and playing a  part in this project, I'm sorry, but I can't afford to do that for you  at this time. 

 The Characters Who Still Need Voices 

•  All ages in their descriptions are human equivalent. You needn't BE  exactly the character's age in order to audition, only be able to SOUND  like you are.  
•  Most of the descriptions of voices are how I hear the characters in my  head already. I'll of course prefer any voices that are close to fitting  these descriptions, but I'm not going to be THAT picky. :XD:  
•  ALL voices have American accents unless otherwise noted. (Again,  I'm not so picky about accent that I won't pick your voice if you happen  to act well and otherwise sound to me like you fit the character.) 
• I'll remove characters from this list as roles are filled.

  Queen Batini (Sarabi's mother) - adult (mid 30's); tone similar to Zoe Saldana, soft spoken and mature, like she's an old soul.

Queen Kanene (Ahadi's mother) - adult (mid 30's) at start of comic; older lady (60+) at Uru's wedding  and beyond; tone similar to Danai Gurira (Marvel MCU Black Panther),  deeper/fuller side of a female voice

King Khalfani (Sarabi's father) - adult (late 30's); tone similar to Christopher Judge, deep, bass, full, slight boom.

King Mohatu (Ahadi's father) - adult (mid 20's at start comic, mature adult, mid 30's by time cub  Ahadi makes appearance, 60+ at Uru's wedding); tone similar to Michael  Keaton. Older voice should be a little deeper, tired or  gravely/whispery.

Nuru (Sarafina's mother)*Only one line* - (young adult, early 20's); young woman.

Rafiki - (adult/nearly middle-aged) voice and character already established in The  Lion King. Sound sound somewhat younger than Robert Guillaume.

Sarabi (toddler/little girl) - (just a couple years old; typical little girl voice)

Sarai (Uru's grandmother) - (old lady; 60+). Rosemary Harris-like voice (Aunt May, Spider-Man movies; '02 - '07). Grizzled, like she's seen things. Very bad things. Tough grandma.

Zawati (Uru's mother) - adult (mid-20's - 30's) at start of comic; older lady 60+ at Uru's  wedding and beyond. I had Cate Blanchett (Galadriel from LotR) in mind  for a voice (some British or Australian accent) but I'm pretty open for  this one. She should just sound like a mom.
Zuzu (Zazu's father) - (adult, 30's). Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins) or Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts, Beauty and the Beast). Musical, but a bit fussy. Dignified British accent.
