Why I am doing Anime Collections
Added 2022-10-24 10:03:32 +0000 UTCSo I wanted to make this post to be open and transparent about what I'm doing since I'm sure I'll inevitably get questions regarding this. For those of you that are unaware I have opened a second Gumroad store specifically for Anime Collections, I will be selling collections there aswell as giving them to Supporter tier Patreons here.
So, why am I doing this? Well there's a few reasons, the first being that I'm always in conflict with my posts on this Patreon, I know most of you don't mind but I'm always worried if I miss a day or two without posting anything here, now I must say the Patreon tier is great value, you get access to every render I have created and will create all for just 3.99, however those of you who are in my Supporter tier I do constantly worry that I'm not providing enough content for your extra support. So after a day or two of not posting I'll be thinking "oh no I haven't posted in a while I need to get these scenes finished and rendered ASAP" which leads to me rushing to post them rather than carefully crafting each scene. Now I know this is a me issue and most of you won't mind if I go a few days without a post, but it's an issue nonetheless. So these Anime collections are a way for me to provide extra content for those of you who chose to support me and my craft the extra mile, while also (hopefully) allowing me to stop worrying so much and spend more time on each individual scene of the stories.
The second reason is simply that it allows me to explore things I'm unable to in 3D. To start on a 3D story I first need to find and purchase a suitable environment, find and purchase suitable clothing that works well with the characters I have chosen, pose the characters how they are needed and pose facial expressions, check to see that the camera angles don't collide with any of the objects, make sure the lighting is supported for the camera angle, simulate dforce clothing, hair and other objects that might be in the scene, then finally render the image. To do all of that just to get a simple Cheerleader scene that I thought was hot in my head is A LOT of work, especially so when it cuts into my time to work on actual projects. The Anime collections allow me to "create" things that otherwise would take too much time in 3D for my and your enjoyment.
The third and final reason is that it's simply a good pastime, rendering takes many, many, MANY hours, and when I have to render 20 or 30 images at once that's no short task. So, when I can't really do anything on my PC because it's using all of it's power to render I can just start working on these Anime Collections.
Okay so finally, why am I charging for these collections? For those of you who don't know these are AI generated images, I input multiple tags and the AI generates images based upon it , I'm sure you've seen it around a lot. Anyway I am selling these Collections for 2 simple reasons;
First, it allows me to put more time into my stories as I mentioned. As of writing this I am officially unemployed so this Patreon and Gumroad is my only current source of income. These collections are a way for me to generate background revenue while providing (imo) good content, and allows me to spend more time on my actual craft.
Secondly, the AI I use is not free, I am paying money for these images. It also takes a few hours of trial and error to get images that reflect what I am looking for, I personally believe that is a fair reason to ask for a price for a large collection of these images.
Anyway that is all I wanted to update you on, thank you to those of you who are currently supporting me, it means more to me now more than ever so I appreciate it!
P.S
There won't be any post today, but expect new renders from The Promotion Commotion tomorrow!
