I remember the first time I watched that scene, seeing him with the full-eyeball, opaque yellow contacts, and thinking, "Ooh, those look uncomfortable!" (Then I consciously pulled myself back into paying attention to the story of the scene.) Later, I saw an interview in which David admitted there was one crew member in charge of regularly giving him eyedrops for all hot, bright, snek-eyed scenes like that. I find details like that fascinating.
