The Courtesan (page 65 - and fic recs!)

Stay turned for that and then we need to decide what story I’m doing next. I have 3 or 4 flashback scenes that I need do and then I can actually start thinking about the real story. As I’ve mentioned before these are flashbacks that are supposed to be scattered throughout the main plot (like the cold open in good omens) but things got so out of hand when you gremlins actually enjoyed reading these! So I guess I’ll just do all the background world building first 😂
Now as promised! Fics about Mansa and Song!
Mansong Milestones by Sintina is amazing, it’s a collection of one shots based on comics and artwork I’ve done. Mansa buying the ring, Song leaving, AND a 🌶 chapter about Song liking his tail yanked 👀
A Carefree Day by MadeOf_Memories just might be the cutest thing ever. Song spends some time with Harmony after Patch Job and ends up buying a very expensive gift for Mansa. It’s absolutely precious!
Spark Into Ash by musegnome is… just wow. This longer piece begins with Mansa and Song’s first time together (very 🌶 but also incredibly 🍭), then picks up 10 years later, just after Song leaves, and covers Mansa’s inner turmoil a day, a week, a month, and a year afterwards. It is heartbreaking how Mansa tries to rationalize what happened and what he did wrong. Absolutely fantastic! Especially since I don’t think I will be drawing any comics about Mansa during the time apart.
I highly recommend all of these stories! And if you have written on that is not here, please link me to it so I can check it out and add it! 💕

Real live ate me alive for way too long, but this comic has been sustaining me. I love it, and I've loved the ending, and I can't wait to see what comes next!!! I know that I and the other gremlins have shouted this at you a bunch, but Song and Mansa (and the rest of the amazing crew) have truly become so incredibly precious to us. I don’t know if I have ever had a pair of characters tuck themselves into my heart as quickly or as deeply as these two (other than the Ineffables, probably), but their story now feels like a little vital piece of me. (That sounds so weird but I don’t know how else to describe it lmao) I cannot wait to read more about them. Thank you for sharing these beautiful characters with us, Whiteley. ❤️

However since Mansa doesn’t really have the money to support Song (and Song knows this) it’s more of a romantic gesture, agreeing to share assets, and a fuck you to people who are prejudiced. (Or a fuck you to people who do have infernals as courtesans only to show them off)
