I mean the ears are very obvious and give a lot of information, but I also love how his back is arched so he can look further up to the ceiling and not into Mansa's eyes, the way his shoulders are lower away from his chin and that one hand resting on Mansa's arm, as if to push him away....... but despite all of his body and mind pleading to separate himself from the person he hurt, his index finger loops through the ring and he *holds* it there, effectively keeping Mansa right where he is. Well, all I have to say to that is THIS: :'(

However, I don’t think Mansa intends to let Song disappear again due to misery and guilt, that would only compound matters and make him feel awful again too. The finger through the ring feels like a physical apology and a plea that it’s not really too late. Also, maybe, a ‘stay close to me’ vibe? I don’t think Mansa would be doing this if it really was too late. Sounds like there’s a whole lot more hugging and talking needed though.

Not as bad as poor Song though - I hope someday he'll wear the ring again (will that be part of the main story you'll be telling?)
